(Got a (genuine) lineman commit. Third lineman in a row. (get it? get it?) Both Scout and Rivals report DT Anthony Hayes from Mendota Hts. MN. 6-3", 293 lb, committed. No rating or ranking, yet. We hope he\'s the NT we are looking for. Is a big HS wrestler, too, which bodes well for interior line play. His HS does not face top flight competition, but check out a series of vids on youtube.

The cameras are just 30 years late.
The men\'s volleyball team swept three games over Ohio State tonight. Next: championship game against Penn State.
Washington secured the commitments of Terrences Jones and Ross. Jones is a fringe one-and-done guy, so Washington is the presumptive favorite in the Pac-10 next year and might even do some damage in the tournament. Hurts us somewhat, as I was hoping for a true chaos scenario with no dominant teams.
SI.com\'s Ian Thomsen writes a four-page article on the Euroleague. Â Josh Childress gets a significant chunk of text, spanning pages 1 and 2. Â His paragraphs focus on how he\'s adapted to the lifestyle and flow of European basketball as a sophomore player there. Â It\'s good stuff.
Link to page 1 here.
This actually snuck in under the radar while we obsessed over defense and Zumwalt.
According to Rivals, Stanford got the top QB class in the nation, ahead of tall the traditional powers, including Texas, which pulled in Connor Wood and Colt\'s little brudder Case McCoy.
What\'s interesting is the weight given to Nottingham, our late decommit from UCLA. Maybe there really was cursing and grinding of teeth when he switched to us. Also somewhat shrouded in sheer lack of information and hype are Dallas Lloyd and Darren Daniel, the 17th and 25th ranked (national) QBs. Makes me think that Nottingham must REALLY be something. Â Gotta wonder if he\'ll displace Nunes sooner rather than later.

...but really needs to.
Phillip Narodick (narodick@stanford.edu)
Narodick is a FAST worker. No sooner did some fantasy-based clip on YouTube appear as "evidence" that a lip-reader said showed Jim Harbaugh uttering anti-gay slurs (either at the ref or Notre Dame players)...than Narodick started a petition demanding the University investigate Harbaugh. Narodick put the petition up on petitiononline.com.
Now, two days later, the person who put up the original lip-reading video clip has completely recanted and issued an apology/explanation.
I am very sorry to Coach Jim Harbaugh and his family for questioning something which I now accept did not occur on the sidelines. It was a simple misreading of what was said and it was not my intent for this to snowball into some sort of character assassination of a coach that I have liked and respected as both a player and coach. I would also like to apologize to Stanford University and everyone else impacted by this story. That includes apologies to all the other bloggers and commenters out there who may have agreed with my original misperception of the clip and ran with this story. A final thank you to GLAAD for helping to clear up this misperception and getting straight to the facts*
But Narodick\'s petition remains. Now, I\'m aware that the young & committed are not the most likely persons to accept outside advice. But some emails ---politely explaining now that he has no ground to stand on, the honorable thing to do would be to take down the petition--- might make him follow that honorable path.
