Week 9 Other Games -
JJJ - 10-27-2016
Just tuning in. USC up 7-0 vs Cal already in 1Q.

Wow, USC offense seems to be moving at will. Other than some penalties, they look really good. 14-0 now. I hope this is a sign that the Cal defense is vulnerable, rather than that the USC offense is now a well-oiled machine.

Cal defence is bad. But, ever since Darnold took over as QB, USC's offence has been really good.

Yes, Darnold is definitely a difference-maker. Now 21-0 in mid-2Q and I will stop posting updates because I have to go.

Yes, Cal up-ing the streak to 13 is too funny.

Holding Cal to just 17 pts in 3 qtrs has to say something about USC's defense, too.

Glad we played USC when we did.

It might. Unclear.
By FEI, $C is the #66 defense - worst we have faced so far.
BY S&P+ $C is the #21 defense - 2nd best defense we have faced.
By yds/play allowed, $C is the #50 defense - 4th best defense we have faced - but just ahead of KSU and und.
By pts/drive allowed, $C is the #43 defense - 2nd worst defense we have faced - with KSU at #64.
So, quite a range of measures. And we've faced pretty good defenses.

Louisville is totally in charge at this point, even though they are only leading 21-17.
Virginia held Louisville to a FG and sacked Jackson, but the Cardinals have been ripping off big gains since the second half began, both passing and running, and now have scored 14 unanswered points. It will be shocking if they lose, or so it appears.
Re: Week 9 Other Games -
CornFed - 10-29-2016
So much for THAT theory. Louisvilles's defense is not quite as awesome as their offense.
Pretty good game. Louisville has about 1.5 minutes left to get a field goal.

Lamar Jackson cements his legend w/ a clutch pass for a TD to win the game w/ a handful of seconds on the clock.

I dunno if you can really cement a legend playing against a godawful UVA team.

Yeah, probly true. But enthusiasts for his H-word hopes won't even consider that.

Huskies draw first blood. Now up 7-0.

Now 14-0 after the Huskies drive 96 yards. This may not even be close.
How did we miss out on Jake Browning? From what I've read he had the grades.
Re: Week 9 Other Games -
CornFed - 10-29-2016
Huskies again, with a 95-yard drive facilitated by a nifty pass-back to Browning from something akin to a wildcat. Browning then threw downfield to a receiver who did not have anyone within 10 yards of him. Huskies lead 14-0.
