Let me get this straight...

you are reposting an excerpt from a 1965 Playboy
- and it is black and white?
- with no pictures?

Re: 59er plargiarists - CowboyIndian - 01-11-2012

I look forward to this season of 43-man squamish on the old flutney.

Squamish is played on a pentagonal field, or Flutney, and the game is normally played within seven 15-minute Ogres, or eight if it's raining.

Maybe this is well known to you all, but "Potrzeibe" and Mad Magazine is tied to Stanford.  (Interestingly, this came up at where I work this week since it was Knuth's birthday.)

Mad Magazine did not make up "Axolotl" - Redrum - 01-11-2012

Not unless they were publishing in the upper Devonian.

Axolotls exist. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.axolotl.org/images/animals/axolotl.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.axolotl.org/&h=184&w=250&sz=26&tbnid=zXLs1MMob1uM1M:&tbnh=96&tbnw=130&zoom=1&docid=PIUIEOD6II_14M&hl=en&sa=X&ei=OFAOT9WdJ4j5ggeiifn9Aw&sqi=2&ved=0CFMQ9QEwAw&dur=15

Re: 59er plargiarists - CowboyIndian - 01-11-2012

Axolotls can be found in some remote mountain lakes in the Rockies....at least one I know of. It's still a pretty funny name, though.
