How many wake up calls does this team need? -

Our offense is atrocious. WIM, I think it's clear that no matter how you parse the stats, the WSU offense looked a lot better than ours. Maybe there isn't an easy solution- I was heartened to see Hogan get some longer play, but he really didn't do a whole lot to make you think he's the answer. Obviously too small of a sample size to pass a final judgement.
The sample size issue does not apply to Nunes however. 8 games in, and he's 7-15 for 136. And most of those yards were on one broken play. Take that away and he's 6-14 for 66 yards. Absolutely pathetic. If anything he has REGRESSED.
Our defensive line and backers are great, almost too good against the run; WSU pretty much just abandoned their run game, but we couldn't make them pay for that. Our DBs clearly still have a long ways to go. They seem to have the athletic chops- nobody is blowing by them. But their WRs consistently could get underneath routes unless Amanam was guarding them.
Remember, Colorado BEAT this WSU team. And we play at Colorado.
Start Hogan. Start Nottingham. Start Lloyd.
Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Or, in the words of Dubya, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on....shame on....can't get fooled again! Fool me eight times?

And like I said before, the "Nunes plays bad on the road" fallacy was disproven once again in this game. Nunes plays bad, period. He just happened to have some particularly bad ones on the road against good defenses. Now he has a real stinker at home against a really really bad defense.
So yeah. Nunes plays bad on the road. And he plays bad at home.

Ugliest game I've seen since Wlat was quick-kicking on 3rd down.

I have tried to refrain from commenting on the quarterback situation, but this is ridiculous. I have nothing against Nunes, but he seems unable to deliver an accurate pass very often. Even on the downfield routes today, he was awful. This is the second game in a row we are lucky there were not 2 or 3 INTs.
To me, JN looks like an inaccurate passer, a poor game manager, and not a very good decision-maker. I do like his running, though. It is time to give someone else a chance. I don't even care whom: Hogan, Nottingham, Lloyd-- just try someone else. The fans have lost confidence in JN, and it appears to me that the team has also. That's just me sitting at home in the not-so-easy chair. So what do I know?

Even with his running, he really, really, really struggles with ball security. I refuse to believe he is the best option we have at QB. We were totally outplayed by one of the worst teams in the Pac 12 today.

It's not Nunes, it's Shaw... -

Find me a coach that would tolerate what we've seen thus far from the QB position. Every year we see coaches, even in our own conference, pull their first-string QB and give the second-string a real shot to prove themselves. That time came weeks ago. At this point, Nunes is simply doing the best he can and I know he's trying his best. The guy clearly isn't slacking. I've no problem with him on this basis.
The problem is with our coach. Shaw has a lot going for him in many respects. Not calling for his head or his job, but the black mark gets bigger with each week, if you ask me.

Got home from the game a little while ago. After watching every aspect of the offense stink all day, I am watching Arizona and USC on my DVR and Barkley look a lot worse than Nunes. It's cheering me up a little bit.

I am watching Oregon St. / Washington. OSU's starter Mannion is clearly struggling throwing 4 picks. And Riley benches him and plays Vaz. And Vaz may win this for them. I wish Shaw would follow Riley here. Mannion has been much better this season than Nunes.

I would like to watch that game, but I have DirecTV. Now I am pissed off all over again. Thanks NYC.

OSU lost -- doesn't this mean we control our own destiny in a Rose Bowl scenario (assuming Oregon goes BCS National Championship game)? Or am I reading this wrong?
