Stanford-WSU Game Thread - shinsengumi - 10-10-2014

Good start, but the curious case of drops continues to haunt us.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - Bruce Wang - 10-10-2014

BarryJ has the Cougars' number.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - SamAtoms1980 - 10-10-2014

We blow down the field, and then inexplicably stick fast with goal-to-go.  Meh

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - CompSci87 - 10-10-2014

Second time blowing down the field was better.

Nice to see the return of play action to the TE!

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - washingtonismoney - 10-10-2014

Feel like that 1st drive was a microcosm of our offense -- seems like one player (and a different player every time) takes it upon himself to screw up egregiously. Basically everything not involving Cajuste was perfect.

2nd drive was perfect of course.

Terrence Alexander getting some run.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - fullmetal - 10-10-2014

I'm following this game online by box score from Fiji.  Glad to see our first two possessions have resulted in two scores of some sort.  BarryJ and McCaffrey are getting some feature time, eh?  Maybe an infusion of young blood will get things going.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - SamAtoms1980 - 10-10-2014

Aw, you give up two 4th down conversions and a TD to a team that hasn't even called a single rushing play?

WTFU guys.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - fullmetal - 10-10-2014

Someone cover Mayle, please ><;;

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-10-2014

First time I've been glad that we didn't intercept the pass.

Another *bleeping* error my gosh what is this

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - Mick - 10-10-2014

Generally speaking, I like the playcalling so far...

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-10-2014

We were lucky, we got away with a big time hold on Barry sanders' big run.  But we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.  1st and 25, 1st and 10, and 3rd and 10 after giving up an eight yard sack.  We aren't a good enough offense to overcome that.

From the perspective of our feet, we are expert marksmen.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - Gauss - 10-10-2014

Penalties really frustrate me, especially the obvious ones like the last hold and the PI that was not called. I wonder if that's on the coaching, or on an instinctual reaction of the players, but it just screams dumb football, the opposite of what I'd like Stanford to be associated with :(

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - washingtonismoney - 10-10-2014

Another punt in this range? Someone needs to get a statistics professor over to Shaw.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - fullmetal - 10-10-2014

Just another day of telling Jordan Williamson he's not good enough, perhaps.

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - fullmetal - 10-10-2014

TyMont with a 46 yd return!  Surely we can't not score a TD.  *crosses fingers*

Re: Stanford-WSU Game Thread - washingtonismoney - 10-10-2014

Last five redzone entries: TD, TD, TD, FG, TD.

And now our offense looks great and no one has complained about anything!

The punt drew some boos from my section. But I'd have to say it worked.
