Geaux Cardinal!

Close enough that it still should be close, but would rather have Baylor's situation.  Bigger leads, more leads and momentum in all five matches.

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - BostonCard - 05-27-2015

Yeah, looks like Baylor definitely is in a better position:

Danielson 1-up through 9
Aubert 3-up through 9
(Lauren) Kim down 2 through 8
Eijkenboom down 3 through 7
Stackhouse down 2 through 7

Isn't Stackhouse usually better than this?  (I know nothing about golf.)

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - BigEasyCard - 05-27-2015

Stackhouse picking up some momentum, going from 3-up to 1-up in two holes.  Our championship hopes ride on her.

Correction: Should have said from 3-down to 1-down.

6 days stress filled days on the same course in miserable weather probably makes that question a touch unfair.  On Day 2 when Stanford was falling apart, Stackhouse kept it together.  On day #4 when the team had essentially clinched match play, Stackhouse was still fighting to post a solid score for a shot at the individual title.

As it stands, if Stanford is going to win it will be because Stackhouse wins ~2 or 3 of the next 8 holes.  So I hope the response in a few hours includes the idea that Stackhouse has never played better.

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - slide - 05-27-2015

the putting for par to winding up with a triple bogey on 13 by Danielson may be the killer.

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - BobK - 05-27-2015

Stackhouse down2 after 11
Danielson up 1 and Aubert up 4 after 13

Commentators still talking about that one.  Such a shame from the player whose victories clinched two previous matches.

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - CornFed - 05-27-2015

It was stunning in a negative way.  Needing a two-putt from 25 or 30 feet to win the hole, the first putt was too aggressive, caught the slope and ended up 30 feet off the green.  Explicitly demonstrates the demonic speed of the greens, the wicked difficulty of the course and the exhaustion of the players.  Man, what a grind!

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - Spiny_Norman - 05-27-2015

Aubert loses a hole after an improper drop after hitting in the water.  Still 4 up with 5 to play.

Stanford seems to be shorter hitting than Baylor which puts them at a disadvantage on par 4s when hitting to demanding greens that require high, soft approaches.  And Stanford really struggling with the speed of the greens (more so than Baylor) which appear to be faster than they have been all week.  Looking grim right now.

Come on, Casey and Mariah!

That makes no sense.

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - BobK - 05-27-2015

Stackhouse with an eagle after a bad hole.  Down 1

I'd like to point out to the announcers that school for Baylor ended 2 weeks ago while Stanford has several weeks to go.  They never talk about Stanford women having school on the road or not.

Right Ferrari.  I should have said goes from 3-down to 1-down.  My bad.

Ferrari, I was wrong.  You were most tactful  ;).

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - CornFed - 05-27-2015

ah, but are you looking forward to the trip?

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - BobK - 05-27-2015

Back to golf.  Aubert wins.

Stackhouse down 2 with 5 to go

Danielson even 2 to go but opponent put her ballon the water

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - fullmetal - 05-27-2015

Danielson up 1 with one hole to go!

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - Farm93 - 05-27-2015

Maybe balance in the Stackhouse v Davis match will change once all of the teams and coaches start watching that pair.  Down 2 with 4 to go is a pretty tough task.

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - BobK - 05-27-2015

Out Kim stays alive down 2 with 3 to go

Stackhouse and Davis putting for birdie, long putts, on 15

Re: Women's Golf at NCAA Final - Viking_Guy - 05-27-2015

Stackhouse birdies to draw within 1, and Danielson closes out on 18 to win 2 up.

OTOH, Lauren Kim drove through the fairway into the hazard on the far side.  May be playable, but iffy.
