By the way, that Cajuste catch out of bounds was insane.

Just imagine if that catch was in bounds?  It would have been all over ESPN for a long time.    Amazing catch nonetheless.

Not to mention rector's catch.  I thought it was in bounds.

Mildly frustrating way to lose, lots of things that added up, and we still almost had it.  Any one of a series of mistakes doesn't happen and I think we win.

Oh well, Beat Kal, win the North, and my expectations for the season are beaten.

Time of Posession -- Stanford 42:06 -- Oregon 17:54
First Downs -- Stanford 32 -- Oregon 18
Total Yards -- Stanford 506 -- Oregon 436
Turnovers -- Stanford 3 -- Oregon 1  >:(

Re: Oregon game thread - cardfan77 - 11-14-2015

Our WRs and TEs made a lot of great plays tonight.  I wish Hogan would have thrown the ball more instead of opting for a run play with McCaffrey which often was stopped short.  Oh well, no point in wouldʻve, couldʻve  and shouldʻve.  On to the next.  Beat Cal!

Rector's was close but too iffy to overturn I think.

I didn't really think much on that first half fade on 3rd down, but I think DBs are generally penalized too often so I'm biased.

Yeah, too bad statistics don't determine the winner.  Turnovers ruin good stats. As do field goals.

I thought it was inbounds, and the refs said the original call "stood" which means the evidence was not indisputable.  Fair enough... And besides hard to get too upset over that call, since we got the first down anyways on the penalty... Which also might have unconsciously influenced the refs into raising the threshold a bit towards overturning.

The Bruins are learning that... Despite out gaining WSU signinificantly, WSU is winning because of three bruin field goals, two of them from about the 5 yard line.

Field goals in TD territory sure can kill a team  :(

And it would still have been the second-best catch by a Stanford WR **THIS YEAR** which is absolutely insane.

Yep, the Bruins put up 554 yards (including 410 passing and rushing by the QB whose name must not be mentioned) and still managed to lose the game.

Re: Oregon game thread - French Rage - 11-15-2015

Just re-watched the end on DVR, Schultz was wide open on the half yard line.  All he would have had to do was fall down.

Oh well.  Bring on Cal!

Re: Oregon game thread - French Rage - 11-15-2015

I like all of the Oregon fans everywhere now playing the "we would be winning the conference if our QB hadn't gotten hurt" card to make up for the fact they're still on the outside looking in.  Good to see the Duck fans as classy in victory as ever.  Of course, if Phillips isn't out for the season in week 1, maybe they don't break off so many big runs.  But if there's one thing Duck fans love it's getting to throw out any results when a player of theirs is injured (see 2013).
