I'm guessing they didn't boo their own 40-10 win over Northwestern either.

My biggest fear going in -- that Stanford would kinda get shut down after the half -- came to fruition. Glad it didn't matter. ;D. Even more dominating win than that Orange Bowl?
Yeah that guy at the end was just inducted into the Douche Hall of Fame. First ballot.

I was saying the Voldemort guy looked like Jim and John Harbaugh's idiot brother. Somebody has identified him.

SUBuddha, Griffin78, dabigv, GoodGrief, DC, Garvin, Fullmetal, Yvonne - it was great seeing you at the post-rally social gathering.
Hank91 - wonderful seeing you at the tailgate.Â
Stanford fans truly are the best.
This game will always be special. So many records. So much dominance. It will be days before the smile leaves my face.

I've never gone back to read a game thread before but this game was just so exciting. It was fun reliving big play after big play after big play in this thread. =)
Some random thoughts to add/agree.
- like everyone has said, what a start! As i was sitting down to get ready for another rose bowl slogfest. BAM!
- that hit on Beathard early in the game. Wow! I contend he must have gotten concussed. He could barely walk right after and then continually looked really indecisive afterwards.
- scoring on a pass, rush, interception and punt return to start. Pretty awesome.

Dunno if it's in the thread but -- was interested to see Meeks get some reps at safety during the extended garbage time period.

Yvonne - If I have another beer tonight, I might forget everyone else. Sorry about that. But I would like to offer special mention for you. The guest of honor at the Cardboard post-rally event. Without you, our little social club here at the Cardboard would not be possible. Kudos and one final toast!

And Cotton was in at DE. Of course, we did give up two touchdowns with the second team on defense.

Watching the TV replay, I like how Musberger was contractually obligated to mention Fournette every time CMac did something. ::)

You watched the game again... with Musberger? Thank goodness the game itself was great, but I would have watched it on mute.
Watching the Alamo Bowl, I was reminded at how great a play-by-play guy Dave Flemming is. Even when he is not doing Stanford/Giants broadcasts, he is a joy to listen to.

By the way, I heard something interesting on the ESPN Championship drive Podcast. Ivan Maisel (Stanford alum) and the ESPN college football experts were chatting about the Voldemort and complimenting Christian McCaffrey. One of the ESPN guys (Ryan McGee?) asked if the others knew ANYONE at ESPN who had voted for Derrick Henry. None of them did.
Note they all thought Henry was a strong candidate, they just thought McCaffrey was more deserving.
I suspect its the local news yokels throughout the South and the Eastern Seaboard who decided this Voldemort, not the votes coming from ESPN, Fox and so on. A sports editor from a small paper in, say, Charleston is much more likely to have never seen a Stanford Voldemort candidate than is an expert from one of the National platforms.
Re: 2016 Rose Bowl Game Thread - ChicagoCard - 01-04-2016
Chris Low, a southern-based reporter for ESPN, tweeted out his top three shortly after the award was given and McCaffrey wasn't on it. I think he had Baker Mayfield with the other obvious two. He's always seemed very fair to the Pac-12 generally when I've heard him on the podcast that was mentioned. I can accept another individual player getting the award, but it's another thing leaving McCaffrey out of the top three. I guess McGee wasn't including Chris Low here.
