Browning seems to be the exception... decent true frosh QB, and spectacular as a sophomore so far. Rosen, OTOH, has regressed, despite a decent freshman season.

COME ON STANFORD!

I feel like Stanford is going to need a great YAC effort to bust a big play, which I still think needs to happen for a victory. A great individual effort.

Nice to see the defense back. They've had their ups and downs, but considering that ND has gotten three turnovers, our defense has come up big so far, against what was supposed to be the strength of the Notre Dame team.
Is Keiser injured?

I agree, but if we lose this one (Les Miserables vs. Les Rocket Scientistes), I'll do a U-turn from a previous post on a previous thread and ask for a burn of Costello's redshirt. He needs the experience, particularly since Mills might be completing strongly in 2018.
I don't think Burns is that great and would be happy if Costello overhauled him -- in 2017. As I think we've discussed ad infinitum true freshmen quarterbacks nearly always stink.*
*(though to be fair it seems like the number of quality freshmen QBs is on the increase. Jalen Hurts this year has been impressive.)

The implicit assumption in my post was that if Costello took over (soon!) in 2016 he would be the man in 2017.

Anyone else feel Love is just a little to hesitant to take an opening?

I wish Love would dance a bit less and just use his speed to hit holes more aggressively.

Well, that answers my question. I know he's looking for the TD run, but sometimes it's good to just get the first down.

If Love had blocked better, Rector would have had another 10 yards.

Yes, he's looking for the big run. The irony is if he just sprinted through the hole as soon as he saw it opening, he might break a few off.

Big third down coming up. I do not want to see a field goal attempt on this drive.

I'm ok with a field goal attempt. Go for the lead in the fourth quarter when possible. Especially when the opposing offense is struggling.
I'd prefer a TD of course, but a field goal wouldn't be the end of the world.

So good it fooled JJ. And nice late smash by Hall during the scrum there.

I want the touchdown and two point conversion to make it a TD lead.

So is it 100 percent or 99 percent that JJAW gets a target here?
