Embo, you deserve a prize for that.

We should have something like the Croix de Candlestick.

I would love to see the secretly-guarded attendance data. I have to imagine the number of people like you who attended every home game this year is less than 500.

Thanks! I had forgotten he played in the WF game. Makes me feel a lot better :-). We might see him in one more game I would think. Obviously not a sure thing.

Well, that is one fine prediction, Marty.  But can you believe JJJ nailed the score exactly?  That is incredible.

It was well past midnight over here when I finally gave up on the game.  It was 35-28 Louisville with six minutes and change left.  The way Louisville had been tearing through our defense, I was thinking 42-28 Cardinals as a final result, though I still had not given up all hope.  What a pleasant surprise to see the 38-35 final result this morning.  Yes, this season has been a major disappointment, but I am very happy for the players and the joy they all experienced for simply not giving up and being on the favorable end of some unexpected luck (i.e., 20 yards of field position with 4 seconds on the clock).  The sparse crowd in the stands was obviously disappointing; but that seems to be our new reality.

We could theoretically close out this season at 5-7; and it would be wonderful to deny Cal bowl eligibility next week in Memorial stadium.  The Bears will certainly be favored; but we have a shot at getting the axe back.  Mosley's performance yesterday was a revelation.  Daniels appears to be hitting his stride.  The defense has shown they can come up big when it matters.  Everything's possible.

Here in Portugal - it was, "What time is it?!?!?..... [Image: surrender.gif]

though this time, I <did> have extra Douro tinto on hand, unlike one of the other games

How quickly you forget.

2013 - #3 Oregon vs #5 Stanford, on Thursday night, national TV.  Without question the most consequential game ever played in the new stadium.

2015 - Notre Dame vs Christian McCaffrey.  I remember shaking Bill Ukropina's hand (along with everyone else) while heading down onto the field.

2021 - beating Oregon in OT (they were ranked #3 again, although it was early in the season).

Yesterday made my season ticket all worthwhile.  Yes, I attended all six home games this year.
Excuse me, you misunderstood my comment.  The 2012 USC game is the only time I PERSONALLY have run out on the field after a game. Obviously there have been other circumstances of rushing the field, but not when I was present at the game. There, I fixed it.

I went to all games this year (and every year), as did the 5 biggest diehards in our group.  Stayed for all 60 minutes of every game too, for better or worse.  We're foul weather fans it seems.

In two rows of section 232 we have six people (three separate groups) that attended all the games. There are two people who stayed for all 60 minutes of all the games. I was not one of them. I think it is hard to estimate the number of fans that attended every game. IMO there are lots of "die-hard" fans in the small crowd that attends these days. I suspect it is way more than 500. It is almost like a duty, especially the first year in the ACC and with a team that obviously needs all the help it can get. Of course, all of the people I know that do this are at least 60, and most of us well more than that. Does not bode well for future or larger attendance.

I can understand wanting to see more of Brown. To see more of what he can do.
But somewhat surprisingly to myself, I’m not that curious at this point of this season.
It seems to me like he was really good with really accurate passes in his brief outing vs CalPoly. In that game our OLine gave him good protection and time and our receivers were getting open more.
In his couple outings since he didn’t look so good. But this was against much better teams that were bullying our OLine and they had better secondaries and our receivers struggled to get open.
And he didn’t show the broken play, scrambling, capability of Daniels
So I think he showed already he’s a great passer, but if not given good protection & open receivers then he’s not likely able to make something happen nor carry the team on his own.

LOL. We managed five, but there was no way I was going to attend that 100 degree game.

He deserves a lot of credit for this great win. And we had 25 players out with injuries!!! (I think TT said that in his post-game press conference.)

The players gave him the game ball.

What a classy thing to do!!! Good on them!

It was the RB coach Agnew who gave Taylor the game ball. There's a clip of it on the StanfordFB X account.

RE: FB -- STANFORD 38 -- LOUISVILLE 35 - Spiny_Norman - 11-18-2024

Stanford has a sad record of performance in November going back a number of years. The win on Saturday was Stanford's first home win in November since a 48-17 defeat of Oregon State in 2018!!

Kudos to all of the fans who have stuck with the team and continued to attend games. You are the very definition of "long-suffering." Game balls to all of you.
