If he is at all like his brother, he is a QT (quadruple threat) QB; the rare quarterback who can throw the ball, run the ball, catch the ball, and return punts and kickoffs. But then again, he will come second in the H-award because he had more games than the guy whose record he broke.
BC
He will also come in second because he only broke a national record whereas the H-award winner broke a conference record.
Another reason he will come in second is that he was throwing, running, catching and returning the ball against poor defenses. If he played in the SEC he'd have less than half the yards because all SEC defenses are better than any defense he faced.
You could shorten it to this:
"Another reason he will come in second is that he was throwing, running, catching and returning the ball. The H-award winner ran the ball."

We offer Osiris St. Brown. Younger brother of Equanimeous.

You have to give the St. Brown parents some credit for their creativity in naming their kids - the younger brother is Amon-Ra, class of 2018. Unfortunately, he seems to be leaning to the Domers at this point.Â

I just hope they didn't burden any daughter with the name, Isis - then again, that's a little more feminine-sounding than say, Kebechet or Tefnut, at least to this Westerner's ears

I never learned much about the ancient Egyptian god Equanimeous.
If he had actually chosen Stanford we would have to make up some lore.

Worth noting that Baron Browning decommited from Baylor.
His brother's shoestring tackle of Mariota will live forever.

Oops my bad! Regardless, Barry B. had a nice Stanford career and Baron would be a great get for next year's class.

In interviews with the St. Brown's, the father has stated that both Osiris(2017) and Amon(2018) favor Stanford even though their brother plays for the Domers. Those making predicitions at that site do not have a clue and usually vote for the geographic powerhouse, the legacy school, or predict the school they cover.

Any idea why Equanimeous chose ND?

Four-star linebacker really wants a Stanford offer:
Quote:Stanford is my top right now, [Indiana LB Pete] Werner said. I can see myself getting offered there, I could commit the next week. Between Duke, Wisconsin, Northwestern and Stanford, those are my top four. Im fortunate to have three of the four but Stanford is my No. 1 and Id like to have that one.

Interesting... - Redrum - 02-16-2016
The kid is from Notre Dame's back yard. He plays for a Cathedral High School, a Catholic college prep school. The school's nickname, BTW, is the Fighting Irish. He is a starting, four-star LB in, arguably, the most powerful program in the state. And his schools of interest are: Stanford, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Duke. Not a peep from him about Notre Dame. Maybe because the Cardboard's autocorrect has poisoned his mind. My only guess is he'd really like a
live, real girlfriend.
Just noting that at 6'4" he already has the frame height we like in our OLBs. He could play in college close to 6'5". His weight, 215, isn't eye-popping, but with one more year of growth and a year in Turley's program, he could be playing at 235-240.

Hand-me down NC State unis? That's funny. I mean, we've been rocking the cardinal and white with a Block S for a while now, fellas.Â

You can learn a lot about ND's feeling of proprietorship over the state reading that thread. If you want just the heart of their Stanford dismay, here it is:
Quote:You guys can waste your time talking about Michigan all you want but Stanford is one of the two programs keeping ND out of the playoffs right now. The other is ND. I dislike everything about that school, from the hand me down NC State uni's to the completely underdressed marching band. Now they are coming to my home state and grabbing our best players??? I'm this close to wishing a 9.0 event upon Palo Alto.

Based on his tape, he's a 3-4 ILB, not an OLB. Apparently he'd mostly played safety growing up. It doesn't look like he's had much experience rushing the passer, and his tape doesn't show him fighting through blocks.

Yeah. If anything N.D.'s keeping us out of the playoff, not the other way around.

on USB being irked with Werner, I liked this quote from the Indy Star earlier in the week:
""I really like Stanford," Werner said. "If I got that offer, I could commit the next day. That's the one I really want. It would be hard to turn down."
Re: Class of 2017 -

To be fair, there really wasn't as much angst in that thread as I expected, even had someone saying they couldn't blame Werner for going to Stanford if he really wanted.Â

Yup, word is he did not even enroll in AP classes his senior year.
