Didn't seem like a dirty play there. Good call.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - stupac2 - 10-07-2017

Huh, Blandino's explanation makes more sense, I guess targeting now includes a foul like spearing.

That was worse than the call they made on Holder.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - teejers1 - 10-07-2017

Is there a worse play caller in D1 football than David Shaw (or whoever is calling the plays?

Seriously.  So predictable.  So pathetic.

Whoever is calling the plays is getting us a 6.9 yard per play average, despite Love being mostly bottled up in this game.

Something unpredictable, presumably.

Go for it!

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - martyup - 10-07-2017

I say play for field position and punt.  Or, fake punt if it's there.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread -- Start of Q4, Stanford up 16 - 13 on the road - ADPATERSON - 10-07-2017

Need to go for it on 4th and 4.  Win the game.
Fake it to Love, throw to TE

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - norcard - 10-07-2017

wasted 2 downs with runs up the middle

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - BostonCard - 10-07-2017

You know what else is predictable... Teejers complaining about the playcalling and calling it "predictable".

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - washingtonismoney - 10-07-2017

Offensively I have seen some wrinkles and adjustments for this game: QB keeping on zone reads; some "novelty"'plays (eg the opening brobdingnagian catch by K Smith in which an OL motioned out to be a wideout). That being said haven't hit pay dirt enough.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - cardfan77 - 10-07-2017

Perhaps another fake punt??

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - BostonCard - 10-07-2017

We are punting :(.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - BostonCard - 10-07-2017

But Bailey gets it to go out of bounds at the 1. :)

Illegal procedure :(

And . . . a stupid penalty forces a re-kick.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - cardcrimson - 10-07-2017

Have we run play action against  the ten in box? We should.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - stupac2 - 10-07-2017

What a punt!

...Wait? re-kick? Ugh.

Or if it's something odd you wouldn't ever have predicted, then it's an AYFKM play call.
