Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread -- UGH, SC 35 - 17 in 4th, 9m+ - ADPATERSON - 09-09-2017

Darnold is having MVP night !
His WR was NOT open.  NFL throw for TD.

Well, there's your ball game. We got beat by a better team. Oh well.
It's taken almost a decade, but I'm afraid the Condoms may be headed back to their former glories.
Shades of playing them in the bad old days when they were just more physical and talented than we were.

Now just gotta hope that the meh game against WMU was a fluke.

Go Boise State!

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread -- Elsewhere - ADPATERSON - 09-09-2017

And, OKLA > OHST big, 31 - 16

GA holds off ND, 20-19 on late FG.  In South Bend.  Big win for GA.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-09-2017

I was going to laugh at Chryst's attempt to shake and bake... but it worked.  He gained 8.

Crushed in the trenches. No imagination on either side of the ball. Not a lot of enthusiasm, either. Awful showing in prime time.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-09-2017

Hey, look at that.  We mounted a pass attack.  Nice play by Chryst to JJAW, two plays after aa nice throw to Weddington.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-09-2017

And there's our first delay of game.  Which, to be honest, didn't seem like we had taken a ton of time there.

Makes a great throw, makes a DELAY OF GAME....

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-09-2017

Chryst has been a big bright spot for me. He looks far better than last year. Only one real head scratcher throw.

I don't have any big qualms with the playcalling either. Just been about our line play.

Also that definitely should have been PI.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-09-2017

JJAW another boss play. Nice drive good guys.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-09-2017

Wow, JJAW!  After being held by the D.

JJAW what a god damn catch.

And off his thigh no less.  Impressive.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - martyup - 09-09-2017

Gotta believe.  Stranger things have happened.  It may not be logical, but . . .

I wouldn't say that he's been a bright spot.  6.5 yards per attempt is pretty meh.  Of course, his line hasn't done him many favors.

But he had a great drive.  His only incompletion was really a PI.

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread -- OK, a little life: 24 to 35 with 6:40 left - ADPATERSON - 09-09-2017

Great catch by JJAW for the TD

Re: Stanford vs. SC Game Thread - stupac2 - 09-09-2017

Where the hell was that passing attack for the rest of this game? The stupid thing is that Chryst hasn't even looked bad previously, we're just... not throwing it. Surprising how not running into stacked boxes over and over is helping us, right?

Also, did we change up pass pro, or is USC turtling? Because Chryst stayed pretty clean there.
