That's NC #107 for Stanford, right? What do you say, Stanford men? Let's make it #108!

That is so amazing! What she accomplished over the last 11 holes was really quite difficult.
Can she get an immediate invitation to the Stanford Hall of Fame?Â
As I mentioned earlier, and hoped would be true. Stanford fans will talk about her play in the second half of the match today for a long time. Congrats!

Taking three straight holes from 2 down with 2 to play. Again, just nails. That birdie putt on 18...

After hole 16, I thought Baylor had it in the bag. I stopped following the match. I got back on my desk and pleasantly surprise that the match is all tied up and playing extra hole. What an amazing performance by Ms. Mariah S. Congrats to WomenÊ»s Golf team for a great tournament.Â

2014-15 Stanford Women's Golf: #7 (out of 11) in the Pac-12, #1 in the nation.
Wow!

At the 2014 NCAA men's golf championship, Stanford had the low 54 hole score and was the #1 seed heading into match play. If the old format had been in place (72 holes of stroke play), Stanford would have been in good shape to win it all. But they lost in the semis to Oklahoma State.Â
Less than a year later, the new women's format leads to a Stanford NC. In the old days, USC would already have the hardware and Stanford would have felt good about a 4th place result.Â
As a golf fan, I really like the new format because of the drama it produces. Nothing can be more exciting in golf than team match play events. As a Stanford fan, I LOVE the new format! All right now!!

Stackhouse's performance down the stretch was just incredible. She had all the pressure on her and she came through. Just a great performance. Of course, it wouldn't have mattered if the rest of the team hadn't put Stanford in a position to win. Great all around effort by the team.
And was Stackhouse great in the interview on the 18th green? Wow. And that goes for Coach Walker too.
A very good day for Stanford!

At points the last couple of days, what with the weather and all, my kindest description of this format was a death march twice-warmed over, but I agree, you really can't get more exciting than this.
And, I'd like to second Chicard - a BIG thanks to those of you who provided the running commentary throughout the championship, especially today!Â
WHOOT!

I'm watching the trophy presentation online and the Baylor player Davies who lost to Stackhouse is crying inconsolably. I really feel for her and wish her the best for the future.
But now they are giving Stanford the championship trophy, and I'm glad it's not a Cardinal who is inconsolable!

Last one left at the office, clapping loudly for this team, for Stanford, and for The Cardboard.

Wow, what a finish. I had a big meeting and had to leave my computer at about the 9-hole mark, when Baylor had the definite edge. Glanced at the scores when I got back and first saw it wrong... then I saw that Stackhouse pulled off the comeback, came over here and got the belated play-by-play. Thanks to everyone who posted... I definitely got to relive the excitement. Now hoping I have it TiVoed. Only regret is that Stackhouse didn't drain her birdie putt; always better to win it by sinking the shot than by having your opponent miss. Still, ALL RIGHT NOW!
