I see what you did there, Hank.

At this point watching The Play is like watching Gilligan's Island reruns while half asleep on the couch at 3 a.m.

I was surprised, too.

Serious question, did Marx get hurt?

Re: Big Game Thread - TrumpCard - 11-21-2015

Hogan only 7 completions and 96 yards passing, with more than half coming on mac's screen.

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-21-2015

CMac meter? What's he need for Barry J's record??

Re: Big Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-21-2015

Amazing; I have never seen such a disparity between yardage and score that didn't involve turnovers.

1st downs: Cal 23; Stanford 16
Total yards: Cal 495; Stanford 356
Time of possession: Cal 31:16, Stanford 28:44

You'd think Cal would have won it 35-22.  The difference is that Cal settled for field goals; we got touchdowns (the Oregon game in reverse), and that guy named McCaffrey with a KOR for a TD.

Looks like it.  This was Andy's in-game tweet.

Harrell acquitted himself well.

He got 389 yards; He was at 2418 at the start of the night, so that puts him at 2803.  Barry Sanders' record is 3250, so he needs 447 more, and has three games to do it.

Re: Big Game Thread - FarmBoy - 11-22-2015

Stanford wins by 13 and all the guys at BI and CGB are raging about the refs. A few are hating on Dykes and Goff (because he wasn't perfect, god forbid). Losers.

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-22-2015

Weenie behavior.

Barry did it in 11 games right? That's pretty incredible. CMac has had an amazing season, and he's still 450 yards back. But at this point, it's definitely looking like a foregone conclusion.

Dykes' endgame shows something of his character - Redrum - 11-22-2015

I agree it sets the wrong tone for the team. That's crap leadership.  I would laugh, but could respect Dykes going down doing the whole "from Hell's heart I stab at thee" thing.  At least that's my crackpot theory worked out sittin' on the couch at 1:15 in the morning

Generously, and more kindly, Dykes must be resting the Bairz for the Copper Bowl game.

Do not invoke the wrath of the woofing Gods.  McCaffrey is just a twisted ankle or knee away from not having a chance to reach that record.  And yeah, Barry did it in 11, because back then teams played 11 regular season games, no conference championship games, and bowl games didn't count towards records.

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-22-2015

If the woofing gods exist, they sure didn't punish us during this game. I was basically taunting my kal buddies by text the whole game.

Re: Big Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-22-2015

Nah, that just means that there were Cal fans who woofed harder than you did.  Weenies being weenies.

Does the total yards included the KOR yardage?

Bend-don't-break...requires patience and nerves of steel.  Glad the right time employed the right strategy.  I thought the Hogan run with three to go was dumb...OL isn't that good at zone blocking or blocking while running laterally.  North-south for these guys.  kal did figure out the jumbo power/short-yardage package one too many times for my liking.  Not as much play-action as I would have liked.  But it was a solid win, and we did it without some key players.

BTHO the south benders.

We ran the jumbo power/short yardage package four times and picked up two first downs and two touchdowns (though one was by the hair of our chinny chin chin).  We struggled a few times in the non-super-jumbo package, but it's really hard to say that we struggled with the running game in a game where we gained 260 yards on the ground.
