No the problem is that our coaches think more highly of our recruits than do the so called experts.  :-[
Well, I've certainly not lost sight of this fact:
Alabama offered Dalyn Wade-Perry, Ryan Johnson, Tobe Umerah, and Andres Fox. Probably didn't offer Booker when they saw he was considering Stanford and Harvard, but everyone else in the Top 10 did. Stanford has re-gained its mojo with DL recruiting.Â

Fun to check out the ND board.
They are so busy celebrating their victory over U$C that they don't have time to complain about losing Booker to us.

TJ Sheffield, 4-* Wr/cb just decommitted from Tennessee and I believe visited us recently. Just retweeted by Stanford rivals writer. May be someone to watch out for.

He's a 2019 player, but you're right that he's a good possibility to come to Stanford.

Any chance one of the Michigan commits might flip at some point? Weren't there a couple potential recruits who committed to Michigan over Stanford prior to the start of the season.

Sheffield was at Stanford for the Oregon game.Â
As to Alabama offers. Well they have offered 9 2019 QBs.  Not sure what an Alabama offer means. Except certainly better than a non offer.  :)

Great life decision by Booker!
Does anyone have a better idea of how big he is? Not that it matters . . . sure looks big & skillful. I am sure Turley is eager to get working with the new class.Â

I don't care about who Alabama offers at QB, OL, RB, TE, WR, LB, or DB that Stanford does. I do care when Stanford lands Alabama-offered DL, because Stanford has historically struggled to recruit elite DL talent in the numbers needed, and Alabama churns out very good ones that lead top defenses, all the time. Alabama, LSU, Clemson, and Florida State IMO are the gold standard for DL talent stamps of approval.
Stanford's most recent DL/DE commits all have offers from these programs. This is the company you must keep to compete on a national level on defense. If Stanford can land Andres Fox, the last five guys taken in the front seven have offers from that quartet. To me, that's a big deal.

Mostly 2019 guys -- two (Stephen Herron, Christopher Hinton) who were thought to be major Stanford leans before going to the Maize and Blue.
Stanford had offered a 2018 cornerback, Myles Sims, who later committed to Michigan, but I'm not sure he was ever thought to be much of a Cardinal prospect. Another Michigan commit, Cameron McGrone, camped at Stanford, IIRC, but was never offered. I wouldn't bet on their flipping.

Ok, thanks. Yeah it was these two guys I'd been thinking of...

The hometown newspaper on Booker's decision.

This article suggests Andres Fox may have made his decision:

Stanford is in the Top 4, among Alabama, Auburn and LSU. Fox says he's visiting in January, which seems to suggest real serious Stanford interest. Could Stanford be the school who knows where Fox is going?

Just judging by the language "I like a school..." -- and the re-taken ACT -- this has all the tip-offs of "player would like to go to Stanford but is worried he won't get in."Â

Wilson has been committed since March. As far as I know he was not wavering. Maybe positive admission news?

Think Wayne Lyons got in with a similar score.

That article has an amazing quote about Booker: "Booker has visited the Stanford campus and he took two classes there before his junior year. He earned As in both, economics and African-American science fiction literature."
First of all, I want to take that class on African-American sci fi. Second of all, am I reading correctly that Booker took and got A's in two Stanford classes when he was 16? Impressive.

That would presumably be most likely something along the lines of the Stanford Pre-collegiate Summer Institute, where they offer courses for high school students.

In general, one cannot take regular Stanford courses without being an enrolled (and thus accepted) Stanford student.
