Two big-name football coaches who are instantly available: Lou Holtz and Lee Corso.
LOL
How about MIke Shanahan?

Just FYI, Dartmouth finished second in Ivy league football last year, and is currently 4-0. So Mr. Teevens is probably ready to leave, flush from all that success.

One of our interns is a Dartmouth student. He & I were discussing Buddy just last week. Intern says they're pretty happy with the coach because expectations were so low when he arrived. They're comfortable with Buddy.

Don James? Bill Walsh and John Robindon can be his coordinators.
Think he means DJ Durkin, the Michigan defensive coordinator. I doubt they'd go for someone who's only been a coordinator,* though Durkin has a heck of a pedigree. (At Stanford as special teams coach, at Florida as special teams coach, at Florida as defensive coordinator, now at Michigan at defensive coordinator.)
*(though given the uncertainty about whether who's hiring -- if indeed there's even a position to hire *for*, who knows.)

Given how well the Michigan defense has been playing, I think Durkin will be a hot commodity this offseason. He's also an excellent recruiter. I don't know if USC takes a shot at someone without head coaching experience, but I think someone will.

Certainly. Though it's rare for big-time jobs -- which SC indisputably is -- to give first-time head coaches their first shot. Durkin to, say, Maryland makes more sense.

Brian Kelly, "maturity and class."
Don't really have a punchline, just wanted it noted for the record.

That is the punchline...sad and revealing.

The punch line was the rationale for Kelly's interest in $outhern Cal: low academic standards.
I've got the perfect guy for $outhern Cal. Intimate knowledge of two of their rivals and another Pac-12 program. Been to a Rose Bowl. Tyrone Willingham.

Ty Willingham is much too much coach for USC.
