Shuler needs to pick up his game, or the coaches need to scheme up a way to slow down Clark (...wham block? screen?...)

Re: Stanford-UCLA game thread - BostonCard - 10-15-2015

Between Hooper and Duarte, we are seeing some great tight ends tonight.

This Rosen guy is good.

I just woke up and thought I was watching TCU vs. Baylor.....

The counter on second down was pretty effective.  A screen might be a good call if UCLA is overly aggressive.

The over is starting to look good.  First real drive by the offense.  Now we need a defensive stop.

Currently we've had the ball 2:34 for 5 plays, UCLA 5:22 for 10 plays.

We just ran 7:44 off the clock on that td drive.

Scoreboard looks good so far, but UCLA offense has blown their own foot off with turnovers and bad penalties.  If they get it together we haven't shown the ability to stop them yet.

Re: Stanford-UCLA game thread - BostonCard - 10-15-2015

brobdingnagian tackle by Holder (I think) and breakup by Harris. If our cb doesn't make the tackle, its a touchdown.

Isn't Mora known for saying that penalties don't matter? Every time I've watched them, which admittedly isn't often, it seems like they shoot themselves in the foot a lot with penalties that impact field position and 1st down conversion. Is it one of those things like Oregon's mantra that ToP doesn't matter that holds up against weaker competition but falls apart as soon as you go against an opponent with the discipline to exploit it?

Re: Stanford-UCLA game thread - washingtonismoney - 10-15-2015

Yes, Mora's claimed that penalties don't matter.

Here's Mike Sanford, being subtle: https://twitter.com/CoachSanfordND/status/654859582469083136

Perez is in ... and he looked confused again.

Re: Stanford-UCLA game thread - BostonCard - 10-15-2015

Defense hasn't been great, but they have made key plays when it has counted.  And another UCLA penalty takes a first down conversion off the board.  Thank you Mora.

Good field position - let's do this!

LA lost 2-3

Re: Stanford-UCLA game thread - BostonCard - 10-15-2015

Great play fake... Multiple receivers wide open.

Thank you Christian.
