She had plenty of opportunity prior to kickoff to pick up on the negative reactions to her tweet and to explain that she was only joking.  It's pretty lame to wait until now to make the claim.  Actually, the original tweet was pretty lame.  I say that as someone who has been pretty receptive to her policy positions.  Just another example of a politician going through a "ready, fire, AIM" sequence.

When I first heard it I thought it was so over the top that she had to follow it with a wink or a "just kidding -- WHITE PUNKS ON DOPE!!!!"

Enjoyed my recent trip to the Sugar Bowl, other than the actual game.  Am glad our band does not strive to incorporate Dixie into it's repertoire.

Annunciation in the Warehouse and Atchafalaya Cafe in the Garden District were quite tasty. 

Irene's Cuisine was a fine NOLA experience but a bit claustrophobic for my experience.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to the Big Easy.  You chose some good spots to eat but still have a few dozen (or more) worth a visit.

On a future visit, come join us at the Blind Pelican for a Stanford Football viewing party.  My standard meal there is a Pelican burger, Covington pilsner, and happy hour raw oysters for $3/dozen!  For the Rose Bowl we had double our normal turnout including visitors from as far away as DC and Alaska!

"Dixie" is the greatest fight song in America and when the Ole Miss Rebels win the Sugar Bowl there is a rightness in the world.  Played fast, "Dixie" will put fight into a whipped chicken.  Played slowly, it brings tears to the eye.  I wish the band would play it more.  They used to play it when the Rebels would take the field, which had everybody (whoever you were rooting for) on their feet and roaring.  Thus is was at the last Ole Miss Sugar Bowl, which I was happy to attend.

The Ole Miss administration is trying to water down "Dixie" by having the band put it into a medley and now they are trying to eradicate even that.  But the song remains by popular demand, despite the PC at the Lyceum.  And so it always will.
