The only thing that's come out so far to discredit the HGH stories:

1) The main source says he was lying to the undercover reporter in order to build himself up, and we should definitely believe him because there's no incentive to lie now.
2) It's from Al Jazeera, who are basically terrorists.

So, yeah, completely discredited.

I'm not going to say that Manning obviously did it, but it's not looking great for him.

Also, if you dislike Cam wearing a towel on his head: try it. Completely changed the way I felt doing housework outside during the summer. I used to think it was stupid, but had to carry a hand towel around to mop up sweat anyway, so I started wearing it on my head, and it's great. Thanks Cam!

Well, the only source saying he lied is not that small a thing.
His motivations both then and now are fairly questionable - but hard to discern the balance.

Is this akin to your in-season Stanford game predictions?

Those who want to get a closer look at Cam Newton may get the opportunity. The Panthers are using Stanford's training facilities to prepare for the Super Bowl.

According to Panthers HC Ron Rivera (who still bleeds C.al blue and gold), the Panthers won't be practicing at Stanford:  http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article56464918.html

As I understand it, one team gets Stanford and the other San Jose State, though that seems a little unfair given the disparity in quality of facilities.

NFC champ was supposed to practice at Stanford.  Maybe Riverboat Ron was channeling his inner weenie when he wrote that, or maybe his weeniedom is so severe that he would sacrifice practicing in the better facilities to take practice at San Jose State.

It would be nearly impossible to prove that given medical confidentiality laws, but that's the way it seems. Not too much of a leap to then presume he would've been the actual user of the medication.

I have no dog in this hunt, at all. But, I do think the bare fact (sans spin) of Manning's wife receiving shipments of HGH is interesting (to my knowledge this part of the story hasn't been discredited or even challenged).

The specter of PEDs will hang over Peyton's head until otherwise disproven.  I doubt there was a reason for anyone else in that household to order HGH.

Stanford and the Broncos have many connections...they are a natural fit :)

To be fair in spite of all the insinuations, I have seen no conclusive evidence that Ashley Manning had an HGH prescription or received shipments of it. But we do know she had a prescription of some kind from the clinic, and we have heard no denials from her that it wasn't HGH, which I think is telling.

You're right, you're an old white guy. The Panthers are fine. And calling sexual-assaulter and probable-HGH-user Manning classy is, well, kinda rich.

Bitter Patriots fan, perhaps?
Half right, I'm a Pats fan but I'm not bitter (at least now Manning gets to take the bullet of being clobbered by the Panthers, I had no real hope for winning the Owl this year). I just find this sort of hypocrisy and pearl-clutching ridiculous. If some guys celebrating their TDs too enthusiastically makes you dislike the NFL, then I think you have some serious problems.

Also, I think the Stanford fanbase needs to just get the hell over the issues with Cam. He had a better season than Luck did. Of all the gripes we have about    voting, that is by far the least legitimate. I also don't know how in the world you could see the smiles on those little kids' faces when he hands them a game ball and not like him. How many other people in the NFL are doing that?
I have no problems with the way Cam celebrates, nor do I have a problem with Cam winning the Voldemort.  His celebration is not my style, but he's having fun and he's not doing it in a manner which disrespects his opponents.  As for the Voldemort,  Luck should have beaten RG3, Toby should have beaten Ingram and CMac should have beaten Henry.  But that has nothing to do with Cam.

I understand your wanting to deflect attention from a group of proven cheaters like Belichick and the Pats.  But to do so after the Broncos beat them and to try to drag Peyton through the mud in doing so? That's the very definition of bitterness.

I really dislike that kind of thinking.  I don't care and don't know, but proving one's innocence shouldn't be required in this country, for anything.  The fact that someone is accused has nothing to do, in and of itself, with the matter of guilt.

Maybe I'm a pessimist, but my belief is that all professional athletes associated with PEDs have used them. This really began with MLB. MLB/MLBPA did absolutely nothing to stop PED usage. When it was obvious that a large percentage of players were using PEDs, players sat on their hands, with no incentive to change the rules. So if you're Craig Biggio, and your teammates Ken Camminiti and Jeff Bagwell are clearly PED users, guess what, you're going to get lumped in with them as well.

Now, look at the number of NFL players suspended for using PEDs. It's incredibly low. If you think nobody in the league is using PEDs, you're crazy. The NFL/NFLPA is doing very little to stop PED usage. So, guess what. Peyton is going to get lumped in with everyone else accused of using PEDs.

Of course you are free to hold that belief or prejudice (we all know the meaning of that word, right?) but pinning the supposition of guilt on one specific person is unreasonable, in my view.  Many lawyers have been proven guilty of malfeasance so all lawyers are crooks, right?  Or certainly suspected, right?  The only exception I am willing to make is politicians.  We all KNOW they are all crooks.  Except Nixon, who denied it.

Re: OT. Okay, I'm an old white guy, but good heavens. . . . - dabigv13 - 01-25-2016

The thing is, I think Peyton should be allowed to use HGH to recover from an injury. There may be some medical benefit to it, without too much risk of significant side effects, if used properly. Of course that opens the door to a very slippery slope because our other medical interventions don't have a performance enhancing aspect (well some people think Tommy John surgery can make you a better pitcher but most orthopods think it's really the extra rehab work). And the use of HGH in injury recovery is only now starting to be studied.

Well, CI, if you believe the predictions are the same, then go right ahead and bet big on the Broncos . . .

When it comes to my beloved Cardinal, I have my own "obligations."

I took hgh once, under docs orders, and I can attest to its amazing power if you need it.  Best given intravenously, I took it orally in liquid form.  Some fun side effects but NSFW.

Cam is way beyond cocky. There isn't a word in the English language that describes his grandiose super-human bow-down-to-me attitude.

Thats most successful pro-athletes. I appreciate guys like Cam who are openly cocky over athletes who are just as cocky but pretend to be humble in front of the camera
