'Announced Attendance' per this morning's San Jose Murky news... 4,519
actual: more like divide 'announced' by 3.... maybe
Muir was there last night, FWLIW... does a good job sitting on his doofus
Announced attendance = paid attendance which is the only metric available - and probably the only one Muir cares about. So if the actual attendance was even 2,250 that means that fully 50% of people who paid for tickets couldn't even bother to show up.
This isn't new to this season. Last year saw many conference games with similarly poor actual attendance. IIRC, not a single game sold out last year.

Actual attendance must be available from the computer system that scans tickets at entry. But I suppose reporting tickets sold as "attendance" is what everyone does...(?)
I've had season tix since Maples opened -
FrankO - 02-12-2016
this year BY FAR the worst in attendance... far worse even, than DiBiaso era...
attendance in the so called 'student section' the worst as well...
total embarrassment....
while the man that sits in his SW corner office in Arrillaga..... does NOTHING
to fix the program
to put butts in the seats
final kvetch: those high tix prices + those premium seat licenses at astronomical levels don't help any either... more and more fed up...
Messaqe to Bernard Muir:Â your market is no longer inelastic...supply and demand elasticity taking over...
time to put a product on the floor that is in demand... or lower the prices

By my count, there were 22 fans in the student section when the horn went off at the end of pre-game warm ups.
During the last TV timeout (~3:20 left in the game) there were 66 fans in the student section.Â
The students have spoken.

Apparently, those students who decided studying for midterms was a better use of their time were correct in their assessment.

Yep. As I told Muir three years ago, it may end up costing you more to keep him than it will to buy him out.

Pretty sure the CoPo is no mo.
Now there's something called 'Fraiche' to meet those froyo cravings.

Maples on a game night used to be FUN as evidenced by a long waiting list for season tickets and a student section that gave Maples a nationwide reputation for home court advantage. The place was BUZZING for games against UConn, Arizona, UCLA and (in a venue slightly North) Duke.
Not so much any more.Â
In 2004 when Mike Montgomery left, Stanford was on the verge of breaking into the elite teams that make up NCAA basketball royalty - a team with an identity, deep bench, frequent runs in the NCAA tournament and preseason #1 rankings.Â
It's sad to think that the next round of recruits were 6 years old when Mike Montgomery walked away. To them Stanford has always been a team fighting for their spot in the Pac 12s lower division.Â
As a one time 20 year season ticket holder I walked away when going to games was just too depressing and ticket prices just too high. I still see a couple of games a year but nostalgia takes over as I sit amongst the few in the sleepy bleacher. Mostly I reflect on how Maples is a shadow of its early 2000 self and the adjectives I use to describe game night afterwards rarely include "fun" and "Buzzing".

I had season tickets from 2000 to 2012 and went to a lot of games from when I was a frosh in the mid 80s until the early 90s when I moved back to Chicago. I saw the rise and the fall up close and the great years from a distance although I did go to the first 2 rounds in 1998 and the Final Four which was absolutely awesome. I went to a couple games in the 2012-13 season but haven't been back since and today I wouldn't even take free tickets because it's not worth my time. I feel terrible for the boys and at times am torn about my lack of support but in the end it's my money and I just give a little more to Buck/Cardinal instead.
