Woo hoo!  The Sears Directors Cup is now of legal age.  Maybe it will join its older sister "the streak", which celebrated its 40th birthday when soccer won in the fall.

P.S.  I think the Directors cup streak turns 22 this year.  We first won it in 1994-95, its second year in existence; we have not lost since then.

Yes, 21 Cups starting in 1994-95.  So 2015-16 will make 22.  Here's a link:  http://www.nacda.com/directorscup/nacda-directorscup-previous-scoring.html

Also, nice table view of Top 10 each year here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NACDA_Directors%27_Cup

Geaux Cardinal!

Oops, I shall have to remember to put the apostrophe at the end of Directors for the Directors' Cup...

Come on let's get real they should just rename it the Stanford Cup and give it to us in the fall.

When I went to the Buck/Cardinal Club board meeting in February we went into the room that has all the cups.  They're gonna need more tables in that room it's full on 3 sides!

They are going to replace the bike lane bollards with Director's Cups starting next year.

Re: 2015-16 Directors' Cup Update - 82 Card - 05-25-2016

Most of the athletes defending the streak were not out of diapers when the cup streak started. Heck, most of them weren't in diapers yet.

Re: 2015-16 Directors' Cup Update - BostonCard - 05-26-2016

I would venture that starting next year, nobody (except maybe players who went on a Mission) will have been born when we won our first Directors (it was Sears, back then) Cup.

I wonder if any coaches were not born yet when we won our first National Championship in the streak.

Still sort of wishing that another school would win it once - Ohio St, Michigan, Florida, Texas or some similar school - I think the respect for our overall and prolonged excellence would be better appreciated.

I feel the opposite.  I'm still holding out hope that UNC's win will be vacated once the NCAA resolves the academic fraud scandal.

^This.  Stanford forever.

These are the moments when I miss the old +1 option.

Mega "thumbs up".  I'm just waiting for UNC to suffer any consequences whatsoever for the egregious destruction of young athletes that they perpetrated.

They should put some kind of small replica on the bollards around Arrilaga.

Perhaps they should just rename it the Stanford Cup.

Didn't the America's Cup (Yacht Racing) get it's name after the US won it 100+ years in a row?  /Lefty

Re: 2015-16 Directors' Cup Update - BostonCard - 05-27-2016

America's cup is named after the boat that one the first race, the America.

Sadly, by that precedent, the Directors' Cup would be called the UNC cup.

I would certainly think we don't have any head coaches who are <22.
Possibly grad assistant.

I meant the National Championship streak, which is 40.  Walker would be under 40 if she graduated in '02; Goldstein would be around 40 if he graduated in '98.
