Forgot that all I do is nervously pace in front of the TV until we are up by 2 scores. Welcome back football.

Both offenses look good, but neither looks great.

I like that the O-line is getting a bit of a push, but receivers also need to make a play or two.

SC will probably stick to the ground game, so it will be about the D stopping some third-and-shorts.

Burns had that TD to CMac.  Phooey!

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-17-2016

Second blown time out, but both on third and one.  Now we gotta convert.

Last game, we got the plays off just before 0:00.  That's twice we didn't.  What's different?

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - needle - 09-17-2016

I bet the staff is saving some plays for Love in the second half. Or he's not fully healthy.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - Hurlburt88 - 09-17-2016

good push.  enough, anyway

He did have one run (for a loss) early on.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - needle - 09-17-2016

A good drive stalls at the end. Stanford D has to make sure Mitchell doesn't beat them and play just a smidge better against the run.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - gocard14 - 09-17-2016

Burns has a cannon but he sure does stare down his receivers. Like early Andrew luck or Hogan though he could use a little more touch/loft on his passes when throwing over defenders.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - M T - 09-17-2016

I don't particularly like the questionable penalties.  I'd be unhappy if that were called on us.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - CompSci87 - 09-17-2016

Nice defensive stand!

Then a personal foul by University of Stubborn Cheaters on the punt.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-17-2016

Marginal call. The SC player wasn't really pushed that much and didn't do much to get out of the way any way, but yeah I'd be mad if it were against us.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - gocard14 - 09-17-2016

Agreed that it was a soft call. Probably drew the flag though because it was a very dangerous play, easily could have been a shredded knee, even if it wasn't the condoms fault.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - M T - 09-17-2016

Whoohoo!

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-17-2016

Rats! I thought he had the corner against the SC LB there.

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - M T - 09-17-2016

And he's in!

Re: Stanford-SC Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-17-2016

Guess McCaffrey is his own vulture.

Did I see that correctly? Already 19 rushes and the first half isn't even over? Shades of Gerhart.
