Saying worms are harmless is one bridge too far.
Google [random body part, like "intestinal"] + worms and see what comes up. (You are in the medical profession, so you have an inkling.) I saved some breakfasts, lunches and dinners by not posting what came up.
Funny how that was my first reaction, not fish bait. My daughter has helminthophobia. She picked a great place to live with a dog that needs to be walked right after it rains. This will often cause outright panic. Guess that's what husbands are for.

Fair enough. I was thinking more along the lines of earthworms.

One of my good friends just had his second kid, and a few weeks ago he was at our place with his wife and current kid, who's about four. At some point my buddy says to his kid "tell Stuart who you saw this weekend." A few iterations of "Who did you see this weekend?" and shy non-response eventually yielded that he saw, and high-fived, Oski.
I'm not sure I've ever felt worse for a child. God that mascot is horrifying.

The 59ers are coming into this game off three tough games against Under Stanford Control (again), UW, and WSU. They were beaten mercilessly in all three. Last Saturday, Webb was just getting abused by the Cougs. I don't know how many times he was sacked, but I saw him get knocked down many times. He was limping and hurting but Yikes wouldn't pull him out. Sure he put up big stats, but I've got to think that he's getting tired of this losing s.hit.Â
He's not a ×ÉÉ guy, being a graduate transfer. He probably could care less about the Big Game rivalry. I think that if we can get to him early in the game, he will mentally cash it in. I think that he is looking forward to his NFL career and will not risk getting hurt just so ×ÉÉ can take back the Axe. So, let's hope we put early pressure on him and break his will.

I probably should assume Stanford will let loose against a similarly poor defense, but somehow Big Game is always a bit different....

Fondue Fred's - 24*
* After the "Screw of '82 I went out to Fondue Fred's with 18 kal students (I was staying with a good friend who was a kal junior). I got really drunk off a bangload of wine. When the others went back to their lair to throw food on the walls like bears will do, I stumbled up to memorial stadium, scaled the fence and cried like a drunk baby. The next morning we drove golf balls off the roof of his 8th story apartment. (Like hungover fools will do).

59ers safety scored at the end of the game by Captain Lloyd who is sent in to put his knee down, but decides to Reigel it instead, scoring before the Kal band can organize a defence.

Wow, a story. That was my freshman year. Me and my buddies sat around scheming how to steal the axe. We had ideas that included helicopters if I recall. Thank God we didn't have too much to drink...

I gotta say I am worried about Big Game.
Stanford is definitely, by far, the better team. Theyre smarter. Theyre much better prepared. In terms of character, they just posted the highest graduation rate in FBS for the third year in a row, and with Stanford, you arent constantly hearing about scandals like sexual harassment in the newspaper, like we are for ×ÉÉ.
But Big Game is Big Game. Even though Stanford has Meeks and Solly, who is one nasty, nasty man, I still think ×ÉÉ puts up a lot of points, and in the process will engage in unprecedented, shameful, incendiary behavior and personal fouls.
You never know what could happen. Stanford puts all of their plays on iPads what if lawless, desperate hackers steal Shaws playbook before the game and reveal Stanfords secrets? Id still pick Stanford by a lot, but that would pose a hurdle that would be insurmountable for most any team.
And what if Stanford is blowing out ×ÉÉ late and the officiating crew starts engaging in vile, horrific, rule-breaking interventions, like not calling numerous forward laterals on the final kickoff of the game? That kind of disgusting, shameful, illegal, dishonest interference can alter the outcome at the last minute.
In the end, I predict a wild, high-scoring game where Stanford narrowly scores more points, 62-61, which, you would think, should mean a win. Go Stanford!

1982-83 was my junior year. My ME 103 Visual Thinking course project that year was how to steal the axe. I actually visited the C.al campus to scope out its location and come up with a plan.
