Colorado wins over Utah, then Colorado vs Apple Cup winner in Pac-12 CG. If UW wins Pac-12 CG then likely UW goes to CFP. Colorado to Rose. etc. Works for me.
If Colorado wins Pac-12 then maybe gets into CFP (doubtful). More likely Colorado is Rose, and everyone falls a slot. As undesirable as that would be it is better than if Colorado falls on Saturday.
If Colorado stumbles, then Under Stanford Control (again) vs Apple Cup winner in Pac-12 CG. If UW wins Pac-12 CG then likely UW goes to CFP. SC goes to Rose. Not happy about that idea honestly.Â
If Under Stanford Control (again) wins Pac-12 CG then Under Stanford Control (again) goes to Rose Bowl, UW goes to Holiday, etc. Even less happy about that idea as Under Stanford Control (again) wins the Pac-12 and all other teams drop down a bowl.
Got to say I really, really want Colorado to win on Saturday. PUHLEZE!!!! I think UW beats Colorado easily, but either way I can accept the Pac-12 CG result and bowl tie-in implications. If Colorado loses...ugh...
Remember that even if the PAC-12 doesn't get a team into the playoff, it could get a second team into a New Years 6 bowl.

The fact that Wisconsin jumped Washington makes me think the committee is just trying their best to silently sweep the Huskies under the rug. Wisco looked good, but Nebraska is trash right now. If Wisco loses, I fully expect the committee to put Penn State right above Washington.

I was just coming to terms with the renaissance of the puppies in the northwest; the night sweats are now in full effect contemplating SC winning the PAC-12. Go Buffs!

I would literally puke if USC snuck into the Rose bowl.

The committee hasn't done anything yet, their rankings come out on Tuesday.
Wisconsin's most recent result is a pummeling of hapless Purdue (the cradle of SEC quarterbacks). They beat Nebraska in OT back before Halloween.

If only Oregon had beaten Nebraska back in September. The Pac just did not have many out-of-conference opportunities against quality teams this year, and the games that ended up that way mostly resulted in narrow losses.

If UW makes the playoff & Colorado beats Utah I see the Holiday Bowl taking Stanford over local U$C. Otherwise it'll be the Sun Bowl.

Holiday would be great, but why wouldn't the Holiday Bowl take a surging USC team with so many USC fans just a short drive away, and a national brand to pump up TV ratings? I've heard others say the same thing, so not arguing the point, just don't understand the logic?

Local teams don't sell hotel rooms. Bowl selection brings out some pretty weird considerations.

I hope that happens, but would point out the Holiday Bowl picked U$C in both 2014 and 2015, even though there were several others with equal or better records those years. However, maybe it'll help that this would be three years in a row, and the Holiday Bowl would want to shake it up a bit...?

I would be completely shocked if they don't get 2 teams in the NY6. UW will be at worst 10-2 to finish the season, they're not getting left of the NY6 at that record, and if they have 2 losses then they didn't win the Pac-12. If they do win the Pac-12 they are almost certainly getting into the playoffs, and then the Rose takes its pick of 3 loss Pac-12 teams. I guess if $C somehow loses to ND (which, I suppose is possible) and UW doesn't make the playoffs at 12-1, it could happen, but man, Scott better punch every CFP committee member in the face if that happens.
As for the Holiday, they won't pick $C because the Trojans just went, twice. Bowls know that their appeal to fans goes down with familiarity. No bowl wants the same team three years in a row.

Yeah, that's why we didn't go to the Rose Bowl after the 2014-15 season. We were trying to help the Tournament of Roses maintain interest in the bowl.

That's such a stretch. Even if that scenario happens why would the Rose Bowl committee pick us, who have been there 3 of the past 4 years, over a team like Colorado that's never been, a resurgent USC team that hasn't been in a while and has a ton of fans, or a WSU team with rabid alumni who hasn't been in over a decade?
I'd love to get the Rose Bowl, but that door almost certainly closed with the loss to Colorado.

I think that the Rose Bowl takes the Pac-12 team with the highest CFP committee ranking. So if UW makes the CFP and we are ranked higher than CU, USC, Utah and WSU, then we're in. But I agree with stupac2 that Stanford won't end up in the RB, because even if CU loses to Utah, the Buffs will finish the regular season ranked higher than Stanford. 10-5 sealed the deal, unfortunately.

Yeah, I don't see that at all.
I think the fallacy in the argument is here:
"Colorado will have just lost to Utah in this scenario, and the committee would not disrespect the Utes win by placing the Buffaloes over them. Now, only Utah and Stanford remain. Who do you choose?"
No. Utah, Colorado and Stanford remain. They pick Colorado.
And as much as I will forever hold a grudge against the Buffs for their epic on-field cheating and bad sportsmanship in 1990, it would be hilarious for a relatively weak Colorado to sneak into the Rose Bowl under Mike MacIntyre. B
earinsider would implode.
And the thought of watching Stanford get destroyed in the Rose Bowl by the likes of Michigan or Ohio State isn't all that appealing honestly.
And I think UW is going to lose again, perhaps as early as Apple Cup.

I don't think Washington is going to win the NC.
So saying they are going to lose again strikes me as a pretty safe statement.
IMO, Wazzu's chances of beating Washington went out the window when the Cougs lost River Cracraft.
