Colorado can claim they are great when their QB is healthy, and really only looked awful when their QB was out (Michigan, Washington).  The ankle will be fine on January 1.  Therefore the good Colorado should be in Pasadena as Pac-12 South champs.  Under Stanford Control (again) needed Colorado, with a healthy QB, to lose big.  Simply, the injury excuses the loss.  Committee has been very consistent in not penalizing CG losers.  Just think last year when Stanford playing and winning a CG didn't pass Iowa.

Hard to believe a team losing because their QB was hurt, will fall behind a team, with one less win BTW, that did not win that same division.  Everyone can imagine Under Stanford Control (again) without their current starting QB because that team went 1-3.

UW - CFP
Colorado - Rose Bowl
Under Stanford Control (again) - Alamo/Cotton (Texas either way)
And then the cascade down from there.

LA Times agrees (and doesn't like it): Even if Colorado loses in Pac-12 title game, USC could be out of Rose Bowl, but it shouldn't

Fact: Colorado wasn't beating UW if Liafau was fully healthy.  Buffs only scored 10 points.  Of those, 7 were with the backup QB, and 3 were after a KOR to the 2, with Liafau leading them backwards to a FG.

I thought going into the game that Colorado's defense was pretty good but just didn't think their offense was doing enough late in the season to be a threat.  They scored 10 on UW, 10 on Stanford, 17 on USC and 20 on UCLA.  Even the 27 on Utah was pretty weak, given how little Utah did on offense.  That's not Top 10 team offensive performance.  Not at all surprised to see UW win easily.

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - winflop - 12-03-2016

I'm looking forward to UW giving the CFP committee some food for thought after they challenge or beat either Bama or tOSU.  yes they played a candy-@$$ OOC schedule but the way they brutalized 3 of the other 4 Pac-12 teams in the Top 25 should give Saban/Meyer a lot to think about.

You have an unusual idea of what constitutes a fact.

Yeah, that's a bit like saying I literally jumped out of skin.

Meanwhile, Navy's second turnover....

" "I don't want to be un-American," one bowl official said, "but nearly everyone in the bowl industry, quite frankly, is rooting against Navy." "

CU's OL was not protecting anyone last night.  It was bad.  WR drops on both sides as well.

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - fullmetal - 12-03-2016

And UF scores first on Bama...!

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - fullmetal - 12-03-2016

UF forces Bama to punt!  Whoda thunk.

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - fullmetal - 12-03-2016

UF is getting pressure on Jalen Hurts, and he's got nowhere to go.  UF forces a FG from Bama.

Bama restores order...

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - fullmetal - 12-03-2016

It's a messy order, but order nonetheless.

K-State crushed TCU to get to 8-4. The opening-week win looks pretty good.

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - fullmetal - 12-03-2016

UW special teams had be ready to play.  Bama's offense can be frustrated, but you really have to tackle and block well on D/ST to have a chance.

Getting ready for serious channel flipping now...

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - fullmetal - 12-03-2016

Well, the Big 10 is going to start in 10 min.  MWC as well?

Turns out the first two wins for Stanford were the best all season.

ACC.

But VaTech doesn't seem to be putting up much of a fight...

Re: Conference Championship Weekend Game Thread - French Rage - 12-03-2016

I don't like Penn State's chances. They're getting manhandled thus far, and it's their natural reaction to do nothing about that.
