Mick that's so not comparable.
I see. So there was an enormous upgrade between 1996 and 1997?

while we trail late 3-2 this should be an easier game than others in this tournament
Re: Softball -

A come from behind 4-3 win for Stanford. The highlight was Frosh LFer Cowles throwing out two runners at home on the same at bat

I really think this freshman class is talented. Teaghan, in particular, looks like a future star and leader on this team.
My thoughts on last night's games are that I think we are better than our performance against Bethune-Cookman indicated, but on the other hand, we also were a little lucky early on against FSU.
All three of Bethune-Cookman's runs were unearned off of four Stanford errors, including three in one inning by one player. (Nikki needs some defensive support; her defense in her 6 starts have allowed 12 unearned runs).
Regarding the FSU game, FSU left 13 runners on base, including the bases loaded multiple times. We also gave up nine walks, in addition to 14 hits, to FSU. I don't we can consistently count on that caliber of competition to leave that many runners on base in a game without the scoreline getting ugly (one FSU player left 9 on base alone).

Softball now 11-6. Split last four games. Wins over Purdue and Drake. Losses to San Diego State and Jacksonville University. Big game against Bama tomorrow.

Now 12-7 with a split today. The loss to # 11 Alabama. But a great pitching job by one of our Frosh
Re: Softball -

13-9 record now on the year, with a home win over Davis, and losses to Drake and Grand Canyon. Two-hitter by Lee against UC Davis in the run rule win 9-1, with 6 players producing a total of 12 hits. Run rule 11-1 loss to Grand Canyon pretty disappointing though.
Re: Softball -

Grand Canyon is now 21-3 with a loss to Baylor. However also a loss earlier today 1-0 tonCal Poly.
Glad I looked that up as I was also disappointed
Play 2 tomorrow
Look on the bright side -
Mick - 03-11-2017
Last year, Stanford Softball was 11-11 at this point. And Stanford won 13 games all of last year. So we know we won't do worse than last year. That's good news, people.

Love your optimism Bob, but I still don't think our architect knows what she is doing.
