Tomorrow is the first day of Spring quarter.  Volleyball fans will probably find out if Hodson has returned to classes.  Her only physical ailment at the time of leaving the team (and Stanford) in October was shin splints.  I heard she has lost her fire and motivation for the sport but that is third hand speculation.  Hodson played with the senior national A team her senior year of high school and was NFOY her freshman season with Stanford.

Since I am currently not viewing a certain volleyball message board (too mean-spirited and contentious), I will rely on Bobbk to relay the information.

I heard couple back.  But really really disagree on her injury.  Far more serious

Re: WVB - the story of the National Championship season - paloalto - 04-12-2017

There was a beach vb match televised Tuesday on the PAC-12 network.  They interviewed coach Hambly, new head coach of the women's indoor team.  I like him.  He was humble, soft-spoken, and articulate.

Hambly understands the only surprises next season will be surprises to the downside for Stanford fans.  With the way  expectations are now, there will be no surprises to the upside.  That's unfair.  Volleyball is a sport of momentum and getting hot at the right time.  There is also an element of the ball bouncing the right way at critical times in a match.  The more talented team does not always win.

I still don't know if Hodson is attending classes this spring.  There seems to be a self-imposed cone of silence around her.

I just noticed my reputation went up 4 points since I last posted.  Is someone encouraging me to not post?? ?? ??

I never knew there was a reputation.

There is certainly a cone of silence.

I also enjoyed the interview.  I'm down for Friday Beach against Oregon who's  Coach was just named Head Coach after Moore was "retired"

Hayley Hodson played in the Sand match against Cal and looked good.

I hope the worst is behind her.  Stanford should be a time when students make the most of their lives...at least, that's what I wish I'd done  ;)

Were you at the sand match?  Nothing was shown or said about Hodson playing on the telecast.  Did she play in an exhibition match?

[/quote]it was televised on Pac-12 but you're right - I researched it and that match was from last year. I don't see her in this years match

I know what you mean.  I was listening to a Giants broadcaset when I heard a fresh, young announcer named Russ Hodges.  he was quite good.
