Is Rice's fight song Yakety Sax?

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - DC 86 - 08-26-2017

Tyler called for a fair catch with a lot of open space (and a blocker) ahead of him, then muffed it but recovered.

Hamilton whiff

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

Christian who?

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

Bryce Love had a nice block on that play.  Tyler needs to come down with that.

We are throwing a lot.  I count 7 passes so far to only two runs.

Chryst 1 of 5 to start the game.  Ugh.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

Now 3 of 7.  Not great, but better.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - stupac2 - 08-26-2017

I mean, we're clearly the better team here, may as well practice passing to get Chryst back into a rhythm. I also think some of these have been good defensive plays, oddly. That one DB had a couple great breakups.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

Scarlett with the short run in for the score.  Now 13-0 pending the PAT.

Also, nice slant to Weddington for 6 yards to set up the score.

Noticed Chaffin in for the score.  Also Sarrell on the PAT protection and I believe Little also.  So four true freshmen already in the game --the ines we expected (including parkinson and weddington)

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

Two possessions, two touchdowns.  Really not much to complain about, other than Hamilton getting beat and a couple errant passes by Chryst.  But that's nitpicking.

For those of you that have been to Sydney, does it bear a physical resemblance to SF ??

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - rudruff - 08-26-2017

Two TD lead. I can sit now.

I wouldn't say so.

Lex, generally Sydney is compared more to LA than SF; Melbourne is usually thought of as more analogous to San Francisco.

Another three and out for Rice.  So far, so good.

And a non-muffed punt!

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - Hurlburt88 - 08-26-2017

Hamilton seemed to get beat again

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

To those of you hoping for involvement of our tight ends, I believe Chryst has completed passes to four different tight ends: Parkinson (TD), Smith, Harrington, and Schultz.

Very impressed with Weddington so far.
