Mostly I have thought Holder > Meeks.
Unfortunately, Holder has been injured so much over the past two seasons that it has been hard to get a full read on him.

I just replayed the UW game and studied each of our defensive players on every play.Â
#15 had been improving over the last few games, but had a terrible game. He didn't attack the plays by closing ground and taking on blocks. In fact, he looks like he goes out of his way to avoid contact. However, he frequently shows up after the tackle is made and celebrates like he did something great.
#20 had a some big plays, but has the opposite problem. He tends to commit too soon and frequently over-pursues plays. Several of Gaskin's big gains were the result of his taking himself out of the play. He makes up for this problem with speed, athleticism, and relentlessness.
Phillips had an excellent game. He was the reason Gaskin was stopped short on that big 4th down play. He won't get credited for the tackle, but he plugged the hole and forced Gaskin to try to find daylight elsewhere.

I would vote Okereke, especially given that Barton is out. Even with Perez improving in recent weeks, the ILB corps after Okereke is... not great.

I think Buncom led the team in tackles because they were picking on him...

Bright is my pick on offense. Particularly down one starter. Defense - after Harry - Reid.
I think Okereke will be a star if he returns next year. But with Holder out they cant afford to lose another DB. And Reid is a terrific safety. The QB of that defense if you will

Raises the question (maybe worth it's own thread, but what the heck) - who is the most indispensable player on offense and defense (aside from Bryce Love and Horrible Harry).
In other words, who is the second most indispensable player on offense and defense?
I don't think there is a clear choice on offense. I am happy to go with JJAW, but would not at all like to see Bright go out.
On defense, while Okereke is probably our second best player now I think there are options at ILB. I'd go with Meeks. The backfield cannot take our two best corners out.

You're talking about Jordan Perez. UW was his worst game by a margin. He was credited with just one tackle, whereas he had five tackles and a half sack against Washington State.

I just this minute was watching that exact play. You are right. Phillips did an amazing job plugging the Huskies' intended hole against a double team. When Gaskin tried to go right he was met by Buncom head on and his forward motion was stopped cold. Great plays by waves of Cardinal!!!!

As mentioned above, he shared the lead in tackles with Frank Buncom.

Ive said my piece and I think by now the situation at ILB is what it is, and as much as Id like to continue to wring my hands over Okerekes positioning, Palmas inability to develop, Bartons injury, Branchs relative lack of size, Alfieris lack of progress, or Perez overall performance, or wondering where Robinson fits in best, Ill leave all that angst to staff. No one is turning into a Skov or Martínez or even a Tarpley overnight. At some point we just have to play the cards were dealt, and Coach Anderson has done a nice job with what he has.
We know we should beat the Weenies, and frankly Im glad the Domer game is now fairly irrelevant as far as the post-season goes. Im more concerned about winning this weekend and then hoping UDub has enough left in the tank to handle Wazzu in 2 weeks.

Shaw was quite effusive in his praise of Buncom today, notwithstanding the missed tackle for loss on Gaskin (I think)

Buncom was pretty effective as a run stopper but not in pass coverage. I think of him like Hoffpauir in the nickel position. Probably capable of covering a TE but not a WR, but more effective at stopping the run. Almost like we're playing 3 DL-3.5 LB-4.5 DB

Funny enough, I think of Ben Edwards the same exact way.

I'm not saying he didn't play well. He made some incredible plays. He was a difference maker against UW. Without his big plays, we might have lost. However, he can improve and I'm sure he will. If he keeps attacking plays, but does so without over-pursuing he will get more tackles and our D will give up less yardage on the ground.

Shaw said today that they recruited Buncom as a CB and that Buncom was still learning the angles from S this year, CB bring mainly outside-in and S being the reverse. That probably applies to both tackling and coverage angles.

Chances are that if Okereke doesnt overpursue, he wraps Gaskin up and doesnt go for the only play he had... punching the ball out. I think it is interesting because you are probably right, that Okereke is a bit too aggressive at times. But after his game Friday, it seems like an odd time to be making the claim.
FYI, he is running about a tackle behind Blake Martinez in his junior year.

I liked seeing Buncom's improvement. Big step up from earlier in the season.
Buncom is this year's Hoffpauir. A nickel back who is great against the run but so-so in pass coverage. I like him covering TEs & RBs but not WRs. Problem is that without Holder or Alexander, he's apparently the only option in that position because Murphy is now at CB with Meeks.

I've seen Antoine in on a few plays, is that just to give guys ahead of him a breather or more a defined role?

Antoine has been rotating in for most of the season as a CB giving a break to the starter. Before Holder went down, it seemed like Antoine was getting as many or more snaps than Murphy. I didn't see him as much against UW and Murphy is getting most of the snaps at CB opposite Meeks. Against UW, there weren't that many plays so there was a lot less substitution than normal.
One other note is that when a DE comes off for nickel, it seems like Jackson comes off the most and Cotton is staying in and getting more snaps in recent games than Jackson.
