Possibly the latter . Given the money Texas A&M threw at Jimbo Fisher, they probably made Elko an offer he couldn't refuse. ESB probably decided it was financially advantageous for him to leave, also. So perhaps instead of fleeing something, they are fleeing toward something. The long green.

Adams, St. Brown and Nelson are 3 big offensive early departure slots for USB to fill this fall, particularly with QB uncertainty.
Elko's departure won't help on the defensive side either

I dunno about the NFL, but Ronald Jones always struck me as a phenomenally talented player. That his career production didn't *quite* fit his talent struck me as more indictment of Helton than Jones.

He ran for about 1600 yards this year. Thats pretty darn good production

SC doesn't throw much to its backs. Jones caught only a handful of passes. However if he's still available in the third round he would be a good pick for Santa Clara. All signs point to Hyde not being resigned.

Interesting to me that Jake Browning is not considered a particularly good NFL prospect, so no doubt he will be around for his senior year. The Huskies will be tough to beat in Seattle with him at the helm.

Might be a bit like Hogan. Great college QB who led his team to three PAC-12 titles, but considered a marginal NFL prospect due to arm strength.
