And that incredible poke-out of the ball to Madsen followed by his thunderous dunk and foul... Honestly, I never even saw Madsen's arms raised in triumph because I was too busy hugging everybody around me.

Then after Madsen made that all-important free throw Art got called for a foul on that URI's 3-pointer attempt. The URI shooter fell apart and his first shot barely grazed the rim. Art Lee was stomping down the sidelines grabbing his throat in a choke-gesture, and all of us in the stands were begging him to stop to avoid getting a technical. Thank goodness he got away with it.

After the game, Art Lee came up the stands and I shouted, "GREAT JOB ART!!!" And he looked at me for a moment and then grinned like a kid. Man, I loved Art Lee on the court.

A friend of mine decided that they wanted to hire Art Lee to be part of their startup as motivation. Art wouldn't have to do anything--he would just have to sit at his desk, and everybody would see him and be like, "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH ART YEAH!!!" and be all motivated to crush their work. There's a SportsCenter promo for you.

You mean, "WHOOO'S YOUR DAAAD-DY???" ARTHUR LEEE...." - that guy?

Ahhhh....good times!  8)

Tim Young. While it’s not fair my memory of him is the missed cripple in the NCAA tourney. Gets a great pass on the right side of the basket.  He’s all alone. Any other 7 footer on the planet rips a dunk. He softly lays it up with his off (right) hand and ....  You know the rest.

Tim was a weird guy. I remember him much the same way that I remember Cordova.

Once he had back surgery he wasn't the same.

Btw Tim scored pints in 5 different years

Hey, by this point I’ve scored pints over about 30 years - though never could play basketball a lick.

I must be ready for a pint or two
