Washington released Adrian Petersen, so that leaves Love and third round rookie Gibson.

Goooooo Bryce! Would be lovely to see him and McCaffery both make the pro bowl (if there is a full season). Too bad they're both in the NFC.

Good. He’s being paid while not getting concussed.

Jerick McKinnon had to sit out two years with a knee injury. He was able to play for Niners this year. It's difficult to assess how much physical performance he has lost if any since he last played three seasons ago, but McKinnon has performed decently in 2020.
Bryce Love could certainly come back as well, but it will be more difficult for him because he hasn't proven anything at the NFL level as McKinnon has before being injured. But you can look at another Niners RB who was even cut multiple times before getting a real shot and proving himself, to know that as soon as you perform, you will be in demand. Raheem Mostert.

McKinnon is an OK third down back but he is definitely not the same player who was a FA three seasons ago. The Niners have Mostert, Wilson, Hasty and another third down back Coleman for next year. Since they have to unload some salary McKinnon could go.

Meanwhile, Antonio Gibson is looking like the answer for WFT at RB. Might be a blessing in disguise for Bryce if he can keep drawing a NFL paycheck while avoiding the wear and tear of RB1 duties before moving on in life.
