Kelly and Reid, for all we know at this point, could be back for the rest of the year.  I think someone said that Jordan Fox seemed to be dinged a couple weeks ago, but he's back in the mix now, so that mitigates the Reid injury a little bit.

It's not like we're talking about having lost Davis Mills here. The OL and the offense is intact.  With Covid, the departures we've seen to the NFL, and the craziness and unevenness of this year's preparation, I think the best advice for Stanford fans this year is just to enjoy the ride.

It's game week, finally. My optimism cannot be stifled. (yet)

Exactly. And in any case it’s not like anyone is playing defense in college football this season!

I'm much less optimistic about my Stanford call on this game without Kelly.  Oregon still has athletes who can move in space, and we need that defensive speed.

100% agree Fullmetal. We will score, maybe alot, but DB's will have big trouble. Prevent D all day?

In his Thursday media check-in, Shaw does not announce a starter opposite Ethan Bonner, and notes the plan was to play multiple guys at those positions anyway. Also notes there may be some movement on the offensive line throughout the game.

Stanford's won back-to-back games at Autzen, and even though this year's team is very different from the one that won in 2018, I asked him how the Card's recent history in Eugene could affect things this time around. His response, in part: "we've got so many young guys [now] that those guys watched those games on TV! (laughing) So they're not bringing much experience to the party, most of them....it's nice to know that you have that in your history, but it's not in the history of our guys."
