Did Toner have the “V” on the back of his jersey before? Maybe that’s what’s throwing him off. Yeah, that must be it... :(

It’s gonna be a long short season folks. This defense sucks. Can’t tackle anyone

Time to recruit nothing but dual threat QB’s.

Enough things are not going right that the upset is unlikely.
However, given the challenges of the day there are a lot of positives, assuming Oregon is a top 10 level team. For those unable to see the positives whenever the score is unfavorable, the O-Line and D-Line play were at a level not seen in 2019.
If Oregon turns out to be the Pac-12's LSU or Penn State, then this effort may not look quite as promising.

Didn't expect too much out of the defense, but I thought the offense would be excellent. Tough without Mills though.

I expected better than this. Making Oregon look like world beaters
Why are they not running it inside the 5? ShawVita overthinking it AGAIN. pound the rock inside and score
That has to be one of the most atrocious playcalling sequences of the entire Shaw era. And that’s saying something

Exactly. You gotta pound the rock there. And then we bring Toner in AGAIN?!? WTF, Shaw? Same 'ole, same 'ole Shaw.

Time to rethink the Jaquist and Kenneger head coaching position. This is incredibly mismanaged.

Wow! 2 shockers. Toner with the 4th FG miss and why are we going for a FG trailing by 3 TDs?
Additionally, do we have any other play than a lob inside the 10-yard line?
RE: Oregon Game Thread -
Bampa - 11-07-2020
WTF was Shaw thinking? Just run in in from the one...but no, let's do something with high risk. Maybe his worst ever call, except for the Mich. State game.
Jeez, pay my a quarter of his salary and I will give you a score!

We have first and goal from inside the 5 and end up missing another field goal?
This is getting embarrasingly bad.

I just turned it off. Clemson & Notre Dame tied halfway through Q4

Good quick drive for a TD. The OL has been opening up running lanes. I've liked what I have seen from our running game. I see the potential our passing game has. The D has been decent except for getting 3rd down stops and por tackling.
I don't like some of the play calls.

Why was Trevor Lawrence allowed on the Flemdon sideline with the team?
RE: Oregon Game Thread -

Shaw is the one trying to figure out the Offense, it seems.
We have a playbook, but with Mills out -- Shaw doesn't know what the team can actually execute.
Red Zone Lob? NO. Power run from the 5? YES.

Running three corner fades with your third string true freshman QB is inexcusable

His quarantine period ended 2 days ago. But he can't play cuz he first has to go through cardiology tests that take longer than 48 hours. He's alright to be there

Stop implying that this is some kind of "new problem" for David Shaw.
He has been utterly clueless in how to call a game in so many situations, it's beyond embarrassing.
Really.
And it is a complete disservice to the players on the roster (and even the fans, frankly) to have it continue.
Fortunately, we have good old Bernie to step in and get his head right . . . by giving Shaw what amounts to a lifetime contract.
Can it be any more of a cluster?

Hoping to catch a recording of Shaw's post-game presser in the next day or two. Two things I'm looking for:
- Do any of the media ask him any even moderately-tough questions, such as:
Can you walk me through your thinking on calling five consecutive pass plays with 1st & goal inside the 5?
Why kick a FG when you're down 3 scores in the 4th quarter?
Is Jet Toner healthy?
Is McKee starting against Colorado?
- Whether Shaw answers the questions or just pisses vinegar on a writer who dares to question his infinite sagacity?

Pissing vinegar reminds me of Leach's response to a reporter's questioning of his playcalling in the second half of our game with them in 2015.
"Are you some kind of idiot or something?"
BTW here is the text of Shaw's remarks.

Toner supposedly just had a bad day.
