Despite the score Cal played a little better than I expected. If they can cut down on their errant passes in the second half, it would be helpful. #32 big post player is not yet ready for D1 basketball.
That dunk by Belibi was with authority. What makes it even better is the move she made at the start of her run down the court to get past the player guarding her. It should make some highlight reels on tomorrow sports shows.
This a game where you can't make any long term conclusions.

At halftime, Fran leads with 14, Brink next with 11. Jones third with 6 but leads the team with 4 assists already.
I would like to see Lexie and Williams start scoring in the second half. Not because we need the points--but just to get them in gear.

Stanford up 44-15 at the half. Belibi leads scoring with 14, including a DUNK! Brink with 11 in 12 minutes.

Cal had 19 turnovers in the first half. Egad.
We shot 54%. They shot 17%.
It is almost as if we are playing a high school all star team.

in addition to their high shooting percentages, both belibi and brink have excellent handles and speed. quite a pair in the post!

Though the Fran dunk was a great highlight, this game has been frustrating to watch. We've created multiple opportunities with our defense and forced live ball turnovers but we have failed to finish, whether turning the ball back over or missing the shot. We should have at least 60 points by now.

Yes, this 3rd quarter has been offensively poor. Cal decided to clog the paint to shut out Belibi and Brink, and force us to shoot from outside. And we went 2-8 from the outside.
Even so, we won the quarter 15-8 based on a push at the end.

they don't have an advertising staff. all their money goes to executive salaries and headquarters rent.
