LOL... "You don't win the Kentucky Derby on donkeys"

Not sure what "she doesn't have the personality of Summit or Auriema" was supposed to mean.

The live stats show two of our players had 36 minutes of play time in the first half.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - 81alum - 12-15-2020

Well, tonight Lexie and Kiana have led the way.  Truly nice to see.  Wilson and Belibi playing well too.

Defense is not so sharp.  We are giving them 41% of their treys, which has kept the game too close.  Perimeter defense has not been good.  We will have to do much, much better against Oregon.

Rebounding, including offensive rebounding, has been about even in the first half.  That should not happen against a shorter, less athletic team.

If you're only giving 110%, you need to step up and do more.

I gave up on the live stats on GoStanford -- but you can get accurate (and sensible!) stats if you go to ESPN.com

By my math, they are giving 180%

I think the late arrival and lack of shootaround time have affected our FGs. Seemed like every long range shot was off by a bit.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - BostonCard - 12-15-2020

Lexie is leading all scorers with 11, but she's needed 9 shots to get there, and is shooting 3/9 (1/4 from 3, plus a make that was waived off because she had her foot on the baseline).  A couple of her buckets were after Fran rebounded her miss and gave her the ball back as she was attacking the basket.

Yes the live stats and the ESPN box scores are wildly different.

Kind of a slow start in the first quarter, but we are up 17-10.  Apparently there was an accident near Berkeley and traffic on the road to Stockton and we arrived 90 minutes before the game.

BC

Lexie is missing some WIDE open three pointers.

BC

Why would an accident in Berkeley make an impact, unless they took a wrong turn. Unless of course they’re staying elsewhere and still subject to the Commander Cody rule.

Just repeating what the announcers said.  And yes, I think they have stayed out of Santa Clara county.

BC

Stanford asserting itself in the third quarter.

Jones was pretty quiet in the first half with 2 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.   Once Belibi left the game Jones took over.  She's pretty unstoppable.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - BostonCard - 12-15-2020

Third quarter is turning into a clinic.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - 81alum - 12-15-2020

I would say the second half has been an improvement :)

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - BostonCard - 12-15-2020

Teejers might have some thoughts about Prechtel, who 0/2 with 0 points and 0 fouls.  We've seen a lot of Belibi, and Brink when Belibi got into foul trouble.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - JJJ - 12-15-2020

Brink has been really impressive. There was one sequence where it seemed like she was the entire team on both ends of the floor! And Jones is having a day as well. Breathing easier now than in 2Q.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - BostonCard - 12-15-2020

Anna Wilson also had a very nice stretch in the second quarter when we were struggling.  Six players (and counting) in double digits.

BC

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - 81alum - 12-15-2020

5 in double digits now.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Pacific Tuesday 6pm - BostonCard - 12-15-2020

I thought Belibi had another bucket.

BC

OK, now she got the bucket.  Belibi with 11.
