17 turnovers. Still only down by 2 with 11:21 to play.

Whatever drills and mental gimmicks are required to get them to value the ball...
Just do it.

I actually muted the sound and it's much better watching the game. It's broadcast malpractice.

Walton going on about Eric Estrada despite being told Estrada was the actor on CHiPs. For F sake, give it up, man.
I'm just pissed because he said that it would be a back and forth affair until the last possession... and then Oregon goes on a run to go up 6.

All of a sudden they can't miss a three pointer

OK, that's a shocker. Stanford has the longest streak of players as first team all-Pac-12 players (8 consecutive years). And how many times have we gone to the NCAA tournament in that time?

I haven’t watched them too much since I gave up tix about eight years ago but this team looks poorly coached... turnovers for sure also some poor shot selection. Too bad because there is some talent. Santa Clara County didn’t lose the game. Does Haase get a pass because of Covid?

No, he gets a pass because Davis was out. Williams and Delaire were bringing up the ball at various points. All the backup guards are freshmen. It's just not a very good team without Davis.

Good start with a very bad ending. I had a feeling that if we started to trail by 6+, we would not be able to come back and lose by double digits.
It's frustrating to turn the ball over so much and then not be able to stop three pointers.

A virtual replay of the Cal game against Oregon two days ago, only Cal was better and lost by less.

Oregon ended up shooting 42% from the field including 39% from 3.
But for a stretch there (until Da Silva picked up his "4th" foul?) they couldn't hit the side of a barn. Unfortunately, we couldn't take full advantage as it seemed we would trade a TO for every clank of theirs. We did slowly build a lead, but it could/should have been much larger.
BTW, Brandon Angel got a lot of run and seemed to hold his own for the most part. What's his ceiling? Can he possibly move past Delaire in the rotation? (Feels like Delaire turns it over a lot and misses too many FTs, but I just looked at his career stats and they don't seem to be that egregious)

Williams looked lost out there.
My gut is that it's going to be a very disappointing year. Hope I'm wrong.

Incredibly sloppy but very athletic. Walton is awful.

Hogge is right. Sloppy but very athletic. The more TO's they have, the faster they go. Can Haase tame this thing? Dunno. It's the same every year, though he's recruiting better every year also. Btw, we, or at least I, had a Brandon Angel sighting. Has he been injured? Looked pretty good, fluid and athletic. The lacrosse player is a good shooter but he likes to dribble instead. And that doesn't go well.
Defense and ball movement remain strengths, but craziness reigns.

I thought being ahead early and close for much of the game was deceptive. If Oregon started making some shots and we didn't quit turning the ball over, we'd be in trouble. Sadly that's just what happened.

The frosh seemed to get a lot more minutes this game. Wonder why our rotation was much bigger than any of of our other games.

Next game Monday noon at OSU.
Then what? Back to Santa Cruz?
