Cardinal leads by 10 at the end of the 1st (19-9). Lexie is on fire. Cougs shooting poorly and have been turnover prone.

Now 30-9 with 5:25 remaining in the 2nd. Lexie has half of our points with 15. Brink is dominating in the post with 5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, and 0 fouls.

Well, a 15-0 run keyed by Lexi and Brink seems to be just what we needed. Hopefully we can keep this up, bury them, demoralize them for the 2nd game. But somehow I think WSU is better than that and will still give us a game.

Well, that may have been our best half of the year, considering the quality of the opponent. 44-18 after one half. Jones and Brink each with a trey!
14 assists on 19 made baskets.
We have only ONE turnover in the half. WSU has 9.
Lexi shooting 7/9 for 15.
Brink with a double double.
FOR THE HALF!
Now, lets have a lot of backups keep this lead and give our starters a lot of rest heading into two more games this week.

Lovely basketball. 44-18 at the half. We have 14 assists, 4 blocks, 3 steals, only 1 turnover, and only 1 personal foul in the first half. The Cougs have 9 turnovers.

The slightly dark lining on the bright clouds is that we've given up 7 OR to WSU, same number as Stanford has.
Did it seem to you that Tara said in the 2nd Quarter, "We need to hit some 3s".
So Lexie, Brink, Prechtel, and Jones hit 4 in a row. It has to be demoralizing to the other team to play against people that are so good inside and then drain the threes.
If WSU continues to try to go inside, it could be historic for Brink: 10 pts, 10 reb, 4 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal, and 0 fouls in the first half. (Ah, but only 57% FG%. Pulling her average down.)
I suspect we will continue to see frequent subs.

Surprisingly, Anna has been quiet tonight and barely shows up on the stat sheet. She has our only foul, 3 reb, 1 assist, 1 steal, and is 0-2 shooting. BUT, it's our defense that has made this a blowout. So give her credit for that.

Brink's 2nd quarter was crazy good. Great effort all around - on the glass, running the court, hitting the floor. She has such good hands. Catches everything and gets rebounds in traffic. I continue to be impressed by her play, and she's also looks to be a great teammate.
Her 1st half line (and most of this was in the 2nd quarter): 10 points, 10 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal and 0 TO's. Sheesh!

We had 1 turnover in the 1st half. We had 6 in the 3rd Q. Only a 10 point quarter for the Cardinal, 19 for the Cougs. Not so pretty now.

Well, after that amazing first half, we laid an egg in the 3rd quarter. A big fat one. Scored only 10 points and had 7 turnovers in the quarter, in which WSU outscored us 19-10.
We are still well ahead, but we have given them hope, especially for next game. A disappointing quarter.
