I thought I heard during the broadcast that he was back on campus but now has to quarantine for 10 or 14 days.

I'm more concerned about Davis & Wills. Williams will be back on the court at some point in Feb.

Thanks, Winflop. That's good news.

Agree with you burger regarding spacing.  The team is playing well for missing three starters, but I was disappointed in Da Silva this game.  His fouls were lazy reach-ins for the most part (as Casey pointed out), and he didn't really get into a rhythm in this game.   I think Mobley wanted to send him a message...

We clearly need to close down cal or we will be on the outside looking in.  O'Connell has been wonderful to watch and Delaire has truly stepped up his game as well.   Hat's off to both of them!  If we can get everyone back, we will be in strong shape for at least the p12 tourney.

This is a pattern that Da Silva has shown a handful of times each season: commit two quick fouls, sit the rest of the half, start the second by committing your third foul, sit for a chunk of the second half, play passively when in there.

Which reminds me of my unhappiness with the "good players automatically sit when collecting 2 fouls in the first half" rule.
DaSilva sat for 13 minutes in the first half, and played 24 minutes in a game we obviously would have wanted him in for 30+. He didn't pick up a fourth until the final desperation foul with 7 seconds left.
So, to make sure DaSilva doesn't miss critical minutes by fouling out, we ensure he misses many more minutes by sitting him.

[Of course there are some limits to this. After two quick fouls DaSilva probably should have sat for awhile to calm down and be reminded of the importance to play without fouling at that time. It's also true that end-of-game minutes are more important than other minutes, the question being just how much.]

I think the reason Hasse kept ODS on the bench so long was that we were leading the game without him.  In theory, the longer he sat the harder he could play when he came back in.

Coaches are worse than teenagers re conformity. Take your guy out for a few minutes and reinsert him for god sakes.

Coach H.... you are playing for an unusual thing for Stanford hoops, an NCAA berth. And you might just be playing for your job this year or next.
