I wasnt aware of protest

Result is now updated to show "official". Around the last turn, Heymach stumbled badly and it looked like she might have been pushed by Rivers from Penn St. who was coming up behind her. It was very hard to see from the video angle I just watched.

RE: Track & Field - mbdude - 06-10-2021

The stumble was caused by a "bump"; it was prior to fall

It doesn't take much to get bumped, tripped or knocked off stride the way the races are run.

It does not look like a very good year, a few points in the Women's Javelin, but I didn't see us get anything in the 100, 800 or 1500.  Maybe in the 5,000.  Where are the Men going to score?  5,000 and 10,000 maybe, Triple Jump?  Is there any other reasonable opportunity?

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-10-2021

Actually Hicks was 7th in the mens 10K.

Rossum didn’t qualify in the 200

Miller 7th in the javelin going into her last throw

Miller finished 7th

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-11-2021

Allie Jones with a hurdle PR in the Heptathlon 13.37. She’s in 12th place after 3 events but about 50 points out of 7th Duke

Looked to me like she was tying up.

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-11-2021

Heymach sure wasn’t tying up.
Robinson 6th in the SC 8:32.01 a PR

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-11-2021

Plus it’s a school record for Robinson

Jones 24.33. I believe a PR for the 200

Jones now 9th 7 points out of 7th

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-11-2021

Hicks with a big PR 13:33 but didn’t score.

RE: Track & Field - Canalejas - 06-11-2021

With LSU claiming the men's outdoor title the SEC now has won 6 NCAA team titles (which doesn't count FBS football.)

Pac-12: 7
SEC: 6
ACC: 5
Big 12: 5
WCC: 3

With baseball and women's outdoor track still to be decided, there's a very real possibility that the Pac-12 won't bring home the most NCAA team titles this year for the first time in quite a while.  I'll have to dig into the record books to see how long it has been.

RE: Track & Field - Phogge - 06-12-2021

The PAC calls itself the “Conference of Champions.” Hard to argue against. But the vast majority of sports fans don’t care. The SEC is the Conference of Champion, meaning football.

RE: Track & Field - Maple Leaf - 06-12-2021

Which conference is the "Conference of Recruiting Violations"?

Careful. With our friends from one of the L.A. schools, the Pac might be in the running!

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-12-2021

Usc may well win today
Jones 18-10 LJ. Still 9th place

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-12-2021

Donaghu 3rd 4:09.66 a PR for 3rd. Aragon 8th 4:12.66. That’s 7 points for Stanford

9 totals points for Stanford

Okeydoke. Forget what I said.

RE: Track & Field - Canalejas - 06-12-2021

I’m watching this broadcast in Spanish. It’s kinda fun.

Our 9 points has us currently in 15th place.

SEC teams currently in the top 3 spots.

RE: Track & Field - akiddoc - 06-12-2021

Great race by Heymach in the 5000. Third time she has run the race. 20+ seconds better than last time. 6th place.

Don't need to bother with that now as USC won the WOTF.  And FWIW that was fairly likely on Thursday evening thanks to the number of runners they got into Saturday.

Now Pac-12 has a 2 title lead with one to go.   2 & 1, if you will.
Sure would be nice to see a certain Pac-12 team win the CWS to get the Pac-12 up to 9 titles this year.

How does that impact the Other Cup?  For the women, USC was 2nd behind Stanford as of May 19.
