We lead 31-17 at the half. Jump leads all scorers with 12 points. Even though it was ugly, we only had 4 turnovers in the first half.

True, but Lexi has 5 rebounds and 4 assists with zero turnovers. Haley is just off tonight.

The announcers mentioned that she changed her hair style. It does look darker tonight. A clear contrast with Lexie's dirty blonde color.
47-30 after 3 quarters. Jump has cooled off, but Tara keeps her on the floor. She's the only player that has played all 30 minutes.

Brink with a double-double in just 22 minutes.
Jump is going to lead all scorers with her 17 points. She also played excellent defense tonight and had 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

This is a really interesting game on a few accounts. Sure, you could call it ugly for multiple reasons including some fairly cold shooting. With that being said, it's important to note that both teams are very familiar with each other's offense as UC Davis runs their own version of the Princeton. UC Davis has also proven this season that they are a tough out for most teams, they beat Oregon and played Washington State to a similar margin as Stanford -- not that you can read too much into margins of victory. I'll leave the more detailed observations for our veteran posters.

It was an ok game. Looked worse than it was because the shooting was on the cold side, especially Jones, who was short on a lot of her shots. Jump had an excellent game, as did Lacie. Davis doesn't exactly give trouble but they do know the our system very well and can gum up the works a bit. I watched the stream. Noticed that Van Gytenbeek had what looked like ear plugs in her ears. Concussion protocol to avoid noise?

My observations: Kind of a flat game overall. Defensively, I thought we were solid. Offensively not our best game. We had stretches of solid play, stretches of poor play, and few stretches of excellent play.
Hannah Jump played well. She's shown she deserves to be starting. Lexie was really good defensively helping lead to some transition offense for us in the 2nd half. Lacie played well. Haley Jones struggled offensively again. Davis played her for the drive and she made no mid range or outside shots to help her cause. She's 2/12 on 3's to start the season. I thought outside shooting was her main focus in the offseason? Her FG shooting overall has also been way down compared to Fresh/Soph seasons. Not Cam's best game but she still managed a double double.
We will have to play better in the next 2 to come back with any wins especially on the road. Rebounding and turnovers will be a major key in both games. Have to be competitive on the boards and limit turnovers.
I've also found it interesting how much the offense now is pass the ball to the wing, then into the post and let Brink or Belibi make a post move and score.

Jones and Lexie have been in a bit of an offensive slump lately. I hope they snap out of it soon.
The offense works so much better when Brink is on the floor. Belibi did a good job, I thought, going 4-4, but the offense just flows better with Brink in place.
Brink and Belibi, however, were 1-6 from the free throw line. The best way to defend our bigs is to foul them. I do wonder how they will do against players as tall or taller and stronger than they are. We will soon find out.
Emma-Nnopu acquitted herself well I thought. 1-1 and great defense.
Demetre and Iriafan are fantastic, but the game has not slowed down enough for them it seems. It will. But not tonight.
I'm not sure how many of us thought Jump would become a starter this soon, but she deserves it. Especially when nothing was going in for Jones and Lexie and pretty much everyone else, she hit shots. And her defense looked excellent. Game leading 17 points, including 4 baskets that were NOT three pointers. She is becoming versatile and a well rounded player. 7-13.
And Lacie was superb in the first half, hitting her free throws and her shots, stealing the ball, making assists.
