We have 19 assists on 27 buckets. SC has 4 assists (not counting the bad calls by the refs).

That big stocky post put her shoulder into Lacie going for that loose ball. If that wasn't flagrant I guess anything goes. Tara should take the starters out pretty soon before "maul ball" catches up to us.

Love to see her hit 2 threes in a row. Bodes well for the future.
We win! Brink with another beautiful performance.

Fabulous to see Jump back in form and hitting treys. Also wonderful to see Demetre hitting shots. And Iriafan was practicing some beautiful choreography.
USC's best scorer, Jordyn Jenkins (NOT Jordan Sanders, also good) was held to one point in the first half but our defense on her fell apart in the second. She wound up with 20 points by going 6/10 with 8 free throws in the second half.
Brink had another fabulous game--26 points and 14 rebounds. She is entering into Nneka and Chiney territory now. The only criticism is that I thought after she made that first trey she tried a little too hard for the second.
Belibi was effective at times but had 6 turnovers.
Lacie's 3 point shooting has looked excellent lately.

I thought they both were going aggressively for the ball. I don't think she was intentionally trying to hurt Lacie. It's amazing Lacie got up and continued playing after banging her shoulder.

I couldn't see the details well enough to know if we were that bad fouling or the refs tightened up in that quarter. Wilson was not happy that she got called for that foul when USC was inbounding. Overall it was a good win. When you lead by so much games tend to get a bit sloppier. Brink was great. Ball movement and pace were generally really good. Did miss a lot of bunnies but USC has size inside and made things tough. Defense did let up some in the second half, but again, blowout and that tends to happen. Can't be 100% on all the time, and we did sub a lot. Glad Jump and Bosgana are back and playing. Now we just need Jones back. Tough stretch of games coming for most of the conference with the Wed games for many teams. Save the energy.

It didn’t seem like we shot the ball that well 43% yet still scored 83 points. As much as I prefer the up and down to a slow pace, we rushed a lot of shots and turned it over by being too sped up at times. When we intentionally got the ball into Brink inside, they couldn’t stop her. She had 26 and it felt like still left points on the board. Great to see Hannah Jump back and nice homecoming games from Kiki and Brooke. Onto the next! Beat Oregon State!

Nice, comfy win.
- USC is not very good. Their top 2 are good but it drops off after that and they are not deep. They blew defensive assignments all game long. In one sequence: 1) Lacie dribbles it to the top of the key, no one on her, 3 pointer good. 2) Dribble up again in the half court, one pass to the right wing to a wide open Jump, 3 pointer good 3) Rebound, outlet to Anna (?), a couple dribbles, one pass to the left wing to a wide open Jump, 3 pointer good.
- Cam could have had 35 tonight. Missed 2 pretty much uncontested layups that she always finishes, and could've hit one or more of her missed 3's. And how about her Dirk Nowitzki move of late? Luv that!
- Took a little bit of time for Jump to get back into the swing of things, but hit her stride in the second half. Must be tough for Jana to go right back to the bench. Hope she can keep her head up as we might very well need her in the tourney.
- Anna a quiet 7 assist, 0 turnover night.
- Lacie playing really well. One thing bugs me though - she makes 1-2 passes a game that are tipped because she's telegraphing her pass.
- Kiki had a few nice moves, but didn't really think she played that well. 4 fouls and 0 boards in 11 mins.
- Demetre might be our best shooter. What a sweet stroke! And she's a good, smart passer and a strong rebounder too. If she was just a little lighter on her feet and could guard on the perimeter better, she would be perfect as a 3.
Hope Haley comes back soon!

Performance for Cam that leads to another POW?? She had 17 points and 8 rebounds vs UCLA to go with today -- 26 points (new personal high), 14 rebounds, 3 assists (a couple of beauties!), 3 blocks, a steal -- and only two TO and 2 fouls. Great game -- just a joy to watch her! And all this in 27 minutes.
And the rest of the cast was also pretty good. Great to see Hannah back, tho at cost of minutes for JVG. Wish there were some way to deal with that because both deserve lots of playing time. And how nice the LA players (Demetre and Iriafen) both got time AND played well.
I love this team! There's just something special about it, not only all the depth but how they handle it, sharing the time and supporting one another.

So Haley Jones was not with the team this weekend due to health and safety protocols. Yet her social media story includes a picture of her at the USC game sitting in the stands watching yesterday. What?!!

The announcers mentioned that although Jump was at UCLA game Stanford requires 2 practices before playing. So Haley may have just been cleared. Just speculating, although it appears she may have flown down with her mom; I'm sure with tara's knowledge

There was definitely a Chiney Ogwumike quality to Brink’s game last night. The way she seemed to grab every offensive rebound and the speed and body control with which she got the ball back up in the air and into the basket. There were times when the team wasn’t shooting the ball well and Brink seemed to say I’ll just carry the team. And she made it all seem so effortless and easy.

I thought they both were going aggressively for the ball. I don't think she was intentionally trying to hurt Lacie. It's amazing Lacie got up and continued playing after banging her shoulder.
I recorded the game and watched it again. I enjoy watching our athletes perform without my tension of being concerned about a win. I also like to review questionable calls in stop or slow action. (It fine-tunes my ability to watch a game — the refs are not always wrong and I’m not always right!)
As for the Lacie’s collision with the scorer’s table…
While not saying the SC player was intending harm, her aggressive defense (reckless abandon) resulted in her diving into Lacie’s back with no chance of touching or recovering the ball. It was poorly timed, over-aggressive, and could have caused a serious injury. No, it wasn’t just a part of playing the game.

Watching the replay and seeing the refs go to the monitor, I expected the call to be a loose ball foul on USC, though probably not a flagrant. Was surprised the call was simply out of bounds ball to Stanford.
