If you miss wide open 3's and you just keep shooting and missing and shooting and missing and shooting and missing and don't do anything different, you can lose to anyone.

Hard to beat a team that shoots 50%.  Hard to understand how UW is 2-11 in conference.

Can't lose senior night (day).

Not in Anna’s house!

Down to the wire. We have a one point lead with under a minute to go. We'll see how it turns out.

If we lose, it’s because we shot 50%… from the free throw line.

Brink clinches her second double double of the week end, and, hopefully, the game for us.

BC

Phew.  We “escaped” with the win today.

I’m way too old for this.

Stanford ended the game on a 10-0 run.  Our last six points were at the free throw line.

Great late-game D by Anna. She was everywhere.

Great D and rebounding by Brink on the last few Washington possessions.

Well, we finished the PAC-12 regular season undefeated, something that even last year’s national championship team didn’t do.  That being said, if we keep playing as we have been, it is easy to see us getting tripped up in the PAC-12 tournament (which would be bad but not devastating) or the NCAA tournament, which would be a very sad way to end the season.

UW finally cooled off in their shooting.  They shot 31% -- 28% in the 4th.  We only shot a little better than that, but just better enough.

We survived 63-56, but there are red flags that 81alum raised after the WSU game as we head into postseason play that we need to fix if we want to make another deep run in March.

Even though UW shot 46% from the game, I thought overall defensively, we weren't terrible. The Huskies turned it over 19 times and ended up only scoring 56 points despite hitting 50% for the great majority of the game.

It is on the offense end that I am worried. From our three point shooting (5/24) and FT shooting (10/16) to our unwillingness to go to what worked, such as Brink posting up down low, it is the fourth time in five games that we've scored 66 points or fewer. I am not sure why we kept going back in the well when everyone was cold shooting the ball.

A great deal of our successful conversion rate was due to fast break layups and Brink posting down low. I feel like our jumper conversion rate must have been in the teens or twenties this game. We have to be more flexible in switching things up.

Brink played 26 minutes and only had 1 foul, 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks, and an assist.

Lexie had another excellent game playing 35 minutes with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals.

Anna played 32 minutes and had 7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.

Mostly, we made up for poor shooting by out-denominatoring them.  We attempted 70 shots (damned autocorrect gave us major diarrhea) versus 52 for UW, and in the end, we made the same number (24).  UW made two more threes than we did, so from the floor, they outscored us 55-53.  But we had 16 free throw attempts (including 8 at the end of the game), compared to 2.  And even though we only made 10 of them, we still outscored them at the line 10-1.

So the difference was an incredible 19 offensive rebounds (compared to 6 by UW) and 10 fewer turnovers.

Stealing “outdenominatoring.”
