Looks like Jenna Brown entered the transfer portal.

Jenna Brown was at the banquet today sitting at a table with a few season ticket seatmates of mine. She was recognized and spoke along with the other graduating seniors. I talked with her very briefly too as we were leaving. I didn't get any detailed story, but yes, she's in the transfer portal and hopes to play somewhere next year.

With their current 14-player roster for next season, Tara will most likely experiment with PG by committee, with Haley JONES, Jenna VAN GYTENBEEK, incoming freshman Talana LEPOLO, and possibly RS freshman HARRIEL. But they will try to get an experienced PG from the transfer portal to add to the above options.
In addition to this, Stanford also loses their #2, #3 and #4 3-point producer, so they will try to get a proven 3-point PG shotmaker from the transfer portal.

Of course, I'd love to dream that somehow Aaliyah Gayles (PG'22, #8 as previously referenced by others) has applied and becomes a last minute addition!

From her Stanford WBB bio:
"A five-star talent, rated as the 18th best player in the country according to ESPN HoopGurlz and 13th by Prospects Nation"
Would she have been on athletic scholarship next season if she stayed at Stanford?

Yes we are now at 14.
Some grad schools are very hard to get into but just guessing. Of course Brown hasn’t played the last two years

She has not yet signed her Letter of Intent to usc.

I’m a little befuddled by the Brown situation. If her plan was to transfer why did she not participate in SR day. She hasn’t played in 2 years and isn’t cleared to practice so what program is going to add her with such risk. She seems beloved by her Stanford teammates and I wish her best. Her basketball career never played out like I thought it would. Top 20 recruit and injuries prevented her from being the player she could.

Why do you think her plan was to transfer? That didn’t seem to be her plan at all

Why do people assume that everyone is always content with how they are treated in the WBB program?
I know it's scandalous here to even suggest that players get sideways with the coaching staff, or get "encouraged" to move on, or what have you - let alone think it - but that is basically inevitable in college sports. Even at Stanford. Even in Tara's program.

So your thinking is Brown was completely blindsided and just found out from the staff that she doesn't have a scholarship for next year and now has to change her plans and is in the portal? Doubt it. These conversations don't just happen solely after the season is complete and not a minute before. Pretty sure her future with the program would have been discussed and she would have known where she stood prior to now.

If she is graduating this year, she also would have to be accepted into a masters program as well, correct? Maybe that didn't pan out. Not saying or suggesting that is the case....just thinking of all possibilities.

That's not what I said. Maybe, as you intimate, the staff said 'we don't see you in our plans next season' a long time ago. So Jenna is just graduating and hoping to play somewhere else next season.
Maybe they said, we do see you in our plans and hope you can get admitted to a graduate program here.
BTW, do you think that "Admissions as a shield" is used in grad programs, too, as it was reportedly used by football with offered recruits that Stanford no longer wanted, especially under Harbs? [I assume, but don't know, coaching staffs can signal to Admissions how badly they want player for next season].
There are LOTS of possibilities - and my point is not all of them come up roses in terms of player contentment. And I don't think it's that controversial of a position . . . except on the Cardboard.

also, it could be that she has not received clearance from the medical staff to resume practice.

also possible that she wants to transfer to a school where she will get more playing time.
indeed, there are many plausible scenarios.

I hadn't heard that. Can you reference a published article (although I know no one in admissions would admit to that even if there was something to it)?
I read articles in his first year Harbaugh ranted against Admissions for rejecting so many of his recruits. That was undergrad of course.
I know in most stem majors for grad school each individual department is primarily in charge of admissions. Hard to believe their decisions could be influenced by coaches.

IIRC, there were reports of Harbaugh offers, conditional upon acceptance - as all such offers are - and the kids doing everything right to maintain GPA and take required courses . . . only to get dinged. Others may know specifics, but I thought even a parent posted on old Bootleg after it all went down. Also reports of offer . . . and then crickets from staff for like forever. The kids "got the drift" but it didn't involve getting dinged. Again, these are just bits and pieces of recalls - but there was discontent of Harbaugh's "offer everybody" approach. So much so that Shaw overcompensated . . . in some people's views.
BTW, the Da Silva exemplar supports no influence in one way of the Admission ratchet . . . but not necessarily the other way. But again, no idea if signaling goes on at all, or if it's completely hands off.

You may have missed that folks here are trying to explain why Jenna didn't participate in Senior Day, but then later entered the portal and participated in the banquet as a departing senior. That sequence of events gives the impression that her plans changed quickly.
I personally don't want to get into speculating on exactly why here, as I got the feeling from my brief conversation that she doesn't want to go into detail on it with fans. Of course there are lots of possibilities, including plenty that don't reflect badly on anyone.
