Didn't ND run into the punter? No flag.

Okay, it's time to go up 14.  GO CARD!

Get Wilson more touches.  He's a gamer.

4 down territory.

Kick the FG.

ND home advantage in spades. How is that not PI?

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - old spanish trail - 10-15-2022

Well there was holding/ interference. But our second best player is the fg kicker!!!!!

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - martyup - 10-15-2022

I'm confused.  WTF?  First, why not kick the FG?  Second, why not throw the flag?

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - qwerty49 - 10-15-2022

Jeez Shaw take the FG. You get the ball to start the 2nd half. Jeez.

Totally agree with both

Sure looked like a penalty.

But a few years ago and earlier Shaw would have NEVER gone for it in that situation.

First could be both running out the clock and felt like they could get 2

Well, we assume he thought they could get the 2 yards. However, why he thought that I'm not sure.  We're only averaging 2.2 yards per rush.

TV expert agrees it definitely should have been holding. Cold comfort.

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - martyup - 10-15-2022

CLOCK MANAGEMENT!!!  Come on, man.

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - old spanish trail - 10-15-2022

He knew ND would fumble

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - martyup - 10-15-2022

Well, Karty will get his chance after all.

10-0 Stanford at the half

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - CompSci87 - 10-15-2022

From that TV view it really looked like the ball started out heading wide right, then curved back left to split the uprights. I really thought it was a miss for a second.

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - DocSavage87 - 10-15-2022

I’m just happy we haven’t lost one of those 4 or 5 times they fumbled the ball. Casey has to hold onto ball.

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - old spanish trail - 10-15-2022

Another kind of Hail Mary.

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - Spiny_Norman - 10-15-2022

87 Mayer is a beast. But ND has not shown much offense otherwise. Stanford is pressuring their QB without bringing extra rushers. Herron made a terrific effort to swat the ball out of the QB's hand and force a fumble. Defense's 1st recovered fumble of the year!

RE: STAN vs ND GAME THREAD - JJJ - 10-15-2022

Ball security. Kinda like common sense not being so common  :)
