The “scuffling”

Harbaugh mentioned two attacks; here’s the second one:

Didn't want to start a new thread (apologies if one exists for this week)

I didn't watch but from the score it looks like Notre Dame crushed #5 Clemson today.

By the transitive property...

Oops just saw CC's post. Heh. Great minds...

Twisted, frustrated minds more like. . . .

Lots of upsets today. Tough one in Baton Rouge for our household--really want to root against BK.

I'm no fan of BK, and I actually think Saban is a good dude.  Nonetheless, there is a bright side to thinking there may only be one SEC team in the CFP.  Bama now has two losses; so do the Bayou Bengals.  Just need to tag Tennessee and Ole Miss with one more, and all they have left is Georgia.

Of course, I wouldn't put it past the playoff committee to select a two-loss SEC team over one-loss teams from other conferences.

While we were enduring utter humiliation yesterday, I watched the Tennessee-Georgia game; and based on all the games I have watched this season, the Bulldogs appear to be the class of NCAA Division 1 football.  Their offense is efficient and can surprise with big chunk plays, while their defense is absolutely lethal.  Going into that game yesterday, Tennessee boasted the highest scoring offense in the country, but didn't score a TD until late in the 4th quarter.  Georgia completely defused the Hooker-Hyatt connection and made the Vols look inert on offense.  The game was not as close as the 27-13 final score makes it look.  Tennessee got 3 points off an early fumble and then were held to a second FG for most of the game; and with Georgia up 27-6 late in the 4th quarter, the Vols finally got into the end-zone.  The ensuing onside kick failed, and the rest was just garbage time.

If Georgia continues to play at that level, I don't see a team that can beat them.

Notre Dame nearly blows a 22-point halftime lead and beats Navy, 35-32.  In the 2nd half, the Irish offense gains 13 yards, and picks up one first down.
And Vandy beats previously ranked Kentucky in Kentucky, 24-21.

Yes, Notre Dame has been an enigma.  They lose to Marshall and Stanford, then throttle Clemson, but almost coug it vs. Navy after getting a big lead.  What is with that team?

Vanderbilt's victory over Kentucky is surprising.  Maybe things are brewing at Vandy.

Ole Miss is up on Bama 17-14.  A late fumble by the Rebels gave Bama a short field with 2 minutes and change to play; and they capitalized to pull within 3.

Cougs up 28-0 vs. ASU at the half.  Wow.  Shades of last weekend.  If Wazzu wins, they will be bowl eligible.

Bama struggling again. Defense is way below their standards. I suspect Saban takes a good look at that for next year.

Wisconsin - Iowa. Battle of bad QBs.

Yes, the Bama defense is not looking nearly as dominant as in earlier years.  Dart and Co. are moving the ball efficiently against the Tide.  24-17 Ole Miss, with Bama currently driving.

RE: Other Games this Weekend - Phogge - 11-12-2022

Dart sacked twice after two long runs with plenty of time left. This one is on the Miss coaches.
Bryce Young with a great game and Corum of Michigan looks like a small Toby. There was a Michigan fan dressed exactly like Harballs down to the glasses and Sharpie on a string.

RE: Other Games this Weekend - BostonCard - 11-12-2022

Washington kicks a field goal to go up 37-34 with less than a minute to go.

Penix with 408 yards.

RE: Other Games this Weekend - Griffins78 - 11-12-2022

Why would Oregon run a 4th and one from its own 34 with the score tied and 95 seconds remaining at Autzen. It gave UW the ability to kick a field goal that gave them the lead. They could have punted instead

Down go the Ducks.

Washington transfer portal QB outplays Oregons transfer portal QB.  Welcome to 2022 free agency college football.

Love they beat Oregon at Austen. Destroys any chance they have to get in the final four. Sends there miserable fans miserably home. And even better given the fact that a receiver, I’m pretty certain, faked a cramp to allow them to run an extra play.

Oregon. Can’t stand em.

Fun game to watch and I'm glad the Huskies won.

Yes!!  Exactly the thing that Oregon has whined about for years when their opponents do it (supposedly).

Also, that was the ugliest Oregon uniform I’ve ever seen (and that says something).

Every time I think Oregon uniforms couldn’t get uglier, I get proved wrong.

Arizona takes down UCLA.

RE: Other Games this Weekend - needle - 11-13-2022

I was thinking before tonight that the PAC really hasn’t had any shocking upsets this year.

Arizona over UCLA qualifies as shocking, imo.

As for other games, yes, very glad Oregon lost.

Hard to believe, but does $C control its own CFP destiny???
