I'll always appreciate when Leach pointed out the disaster that was Woodie Dixon, and by association Larry Scott.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, just Google "Mike Leach Woodie Dixon".

Can't believe the Pirate is gone.  My husband is a big Leach fan and has been watching clips on YouTube most of the day.  I knew as soon as the news accounts said medical help didn't arrive for 10-15 minutes that he was a goner.   Even if his wife was able to do CPR, she wouldn't have been able to sustain it for that long.  Probably kept him on life support so they could arrange for transplant recipients.
When he was at Wazzu, he used to walk several miles a day to/from work.  I will miss his quirky interviews.  If you haven't seen his harangue about wedding preparations, it's hilarious.  He easily could have made a career change to stand-up comedy.
RIP, Coach.

Always loved the Pirate, he will be missed dearly

Reminds me of the scene in Moneyball where the scouts are seated talking about guys who can replace Giambi and one old scout dings a guy because he has an ugly girlfriend.

And I was probably on Mars at the time but I read today that Jeremy Giambi ate a gun earlier in the year. BobbbbbbbbK must have missed it too.

my favorite quote of his from the above ESPN article is, "I miss streakers," after a fan ran onto the field and dropped his pants following a touchdown in Washington State's 24-21 win over Stanford in 2017.

I knew of Jeremy’s suicide. Sad. He had been hit in the head while pitching batting practice the year before

I saw this story and had to post the link.  It's a good read.

One of Mike Leach's final acts

That is a fantastic story. So much more can be learned about a man from what he does when no one is watching. Thanks for posting it.
