It is just fun for us. Losses suck but they do let us play at backseat coaching. Here is a thought - we've wondered if the players were tired because many shots were short and looked rushed. Maybe it wasn't being tired, but rather mental pressure, getting tight, or being mentally tired. It can be hard to be the team chased, the one who gets everyone's best game. Maybe this loss will allow the team to play more freely, not stress.
A voice of sanity. The team needs to start having fun again. As a baseball pundit once said, “We say, ‘Play ball!’ not ‘Work ball!’”

My suggestions / comments, with the caveats that I know nothing and am mostly focused on what adjustments we might have made against USC:
We are 19 games in - the stats are significant at this point. Cameron is 9-41 (22%) on 3 point shots, and I'm pretty sure every time she shot one she was not under the basket rebounding. I don't like her shooting 3s even with the clock running down. Let anyone else shoot and Cameron rebound.
I like mid-range jumpers from decent shooters, particularly on the road. I wish Jones would drive more with the specific intent of finding her spot on the floor for a m-r jumper (as opposed to settling for it when she can't get to the basket). Her jumper is very unlikely to be blocked, and if she misses, the D rebounders have often been pulled out of position, making our O rebounding easier. Demetre can't create her own shot like Jones, but I'd similarly love to get her more mid-range opportunities. Iriafen too, and even Jump who manages to get them off in spite of the low release.
OTOH, Lepolo is 16-37 (43%) on threes. More please - she has the opportunities. And I suspect she can sometimes drive past the on-rushing defender to drive to the basket or dish. And Agnes (6-17, 35%) should be encouraged to take a few more 3s, particularly in games like USC where we are having such difficulty getting inside shots.
BTW, I'm an optimist on Betts. I'm glad Tara keeps trying to get her some minutes because even this year there may be a game in which her contribution is significant. But if not, that's OK given the experienced post talent on the team.
