Thank you for that information, particularly about Goforth. That is rather sad. I'm not persuaded that the other three cases have plausible, benign explanations, however--other than just that "everyone is doing it" these days. But agree that Oregon, Arizona, and throw in USC have become teams built on free agency. Disappointing.
I am reminded that my list of transfers out is incomplete. I forgot Taya Corrosdale to Duke and Greta Kampschroeder to Michigan. Corrosdale was a grad transfer, so that one probably doesn't count. But still.

Most Beaver fans are not too optimistic, but blanketing jump and pushing Brink around with stronger posts seems to be their prescription.
One interesting question is who guards Beers, who reminds me of Charles Barkley (not personality but inside presence despite height challenges). I wonder if Betts and Prechtel get minutes banging on Beers and Brink comes as weak side help.
Any news on whether we see Lepolo tonight?

I have no inside information. My guess is we will, simply on the basis of the apparent lack of severity of the injury and Tara's press conference comments that seemed to minimize it.

Lepolo looked so smooth and confident handling the ball in the few minutes before that injury happened. Stanford has other players capable of handling the ball; just not as well as Lepolo.
I only want Lepolo to play if she is 100%. Don't want to risk turning something minor into a chronic injury. Tara will make the best long-term decision.
I'm still not convinced Betts is ready for big minutes in a game where the outcome is in doubt. Her day will come.

I certainly hope Betts' say will come, and soon. And that she has the patience to develop and have it come at Stanford

Kate at chalk talk, Lepolo will play, but it didn't sound as if she would start. Said same starting group as last weekend

We are apparently 21 point favorites, which seems pretty generous.

Not playing like 21 point favorites.

Well we’re not playing poorly IMO. I think oddsmakers have underestimated OSU.

OSU looking pretty good so far. Will it last? Brink spending more time away from basket due to OSU having good height.

OSU is channeling Chicago State's mens team at Maples. They are shooting very well. This will change. Keep watching.

that was a quick half - shooting a little better but 3 of 9 for 3s (Jump 1/5)

Gardiner looks pretty good. They have made a lot of tough shots.
None of our big three (Jump, Jones, Brink) are shooting a high percentage. Hard to win when your best players don't play well. They need to pick it up and step up. Iriafen and Demetre had good minutes and a nice first half for Emma-Nnopu.
Also, only 3 assists. That is not Stanford basketball, which is movement, cutting, and passing.

Shooting in 2nd qtr was 4/15, pretty awful. And outrebounded in 1nd by 2

Don’t know whether Haley’s absolute refusal to shoot the wide open mid range jumper is her own decision or on orders of the coaches, but it could very well cost us the game.

Hmm. Don't think we have to worry about peaking too soon.

The Beavers can't keep making all these prayer shots.
